The nominees for this year's upcoming Billboard Music Awards are unveiled. The Weeknd leads the pack with a total of 19 nominations, Justin Bieber follows with 12 nods, while Taylor Swift and Adele trail behind with eight each. Meanwhile, Drake and Fetty Wap are up for 11 nods each.
The Weeknd, Justin Bieber, Drake and Adele are all vying for the Top Artist title. As for Fetty Wap, the "Trap Queen" hitmaker is battling fellow newbies like OMI, Charlie Puth, Silento and Bryson Tiller to take home the coveted Top New Artist prize.
In Top Soundtrack category, "Empire" songs from season 1 is nominated along with "Fifty Shades of Grey" soundtrack, "Furious 7" theme song, "Guardians of the Galaxy: Awesome Mix Vol. 1" and "Pitch Perfect 2" tracks.
The winners will be handed the awards in a live ceremony May 22 to be hosted by Ciara and Ludacris. Musical guests and presenters are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
