Bebe Rexha, whose real name is Bleta Rexha, was born on August 30, 1989 in New York to Albanian parents. Growing up, Bebe enjoyed playing musical instruments like trumpet, guitar and piano. She also joined a choir during her high school days.
Her music career began when teenager Bebe submitted a song to be performed at the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences' annual "Grammy Day" event, where she took home Best Teen Songwriter Award, defeating 700 other contestants. It eventually led her to sign a contract with talent scout Samantha Cox.
After that, she began working at a recording studio in New York City and became the lead vocalist of a band named Black Cards, which was part of Pete Wentz's experimental project, in 2010. However, Bebe decided to leave the band in 2012 to pursue other endeavors.
A year after leaving the band, Bebe signed a deal with Warner Bros. Records as a solo artist, and starting from there, she began writing several songs, including Eminem's mega hit song "The Monster" as well as Selena Gomez's "Like a Champion". In 2014, Bebe finally released her debut single entitled "I Can't Stop Drinking About You", which peaked at No. 22 on Billboard's Top Heatseekers chart.
Bebe didn't stop releasing singles that year. In late 2014, she premiered two new singles entitled "I'm Gonna Show You Crazy" and "Gone" before unveiling her debut album "I Don't Wanna Grow Up" in 2015. Her popularity arose when she was featured on G-Eazy's "Me, Myself & I". The song peaked at No. 7 on Billboard Hot 100 and topped Billboard Pop Songs chart.
In October 2016, Bebe debuted a new track entitled "I Got You", the only track off her second album "All Your Fault: Pt 1", which was released on February 17, 2017. In support of the album, Bebe embarked on her first tour entitled "All You Fault" tour, traveling across North America and Europe from March 1 until May 18.
Shortly after concluding her tour, Bebe released a documentary titled "Bebe Rexha: The Ride", which aired on MTV. The show captured Bebe's journey to stardom. Later in August, Bebe released her third album entitled "All Your Fault: Pt 2" after releasing lead track "The Way I Are (Dance with Somebody)" featuring Lil Wayne. The songstress was initially scheduled to embark on a new tour in support of the album, but she postponed it until 2018 due to an infection.
In November, Bebe announced that she was working on a new project called "Expectations". The project is set to be released in 2018.
