The nominations for People's Choice Awards 2016 were announced by Christina Milian, Zachary Levi, Jane Lynch and more at the Paley Center for Media in Beverly Hills on Tuesday, November 3. In TV field, such veterans as "Grey's Anatomy" and "The Big Bang Theory" dominate the list of nominees.
Both shows are vying for Favorite TV Show, up against other hits like "Game of Thrones", "The Voice" and "The Walking Dead". "Grey's" is also nominated for Favorite Network TV Drama alongside other Shondaland series, "How to Get Away with Murder" and "Scandal", as well as "Empire" and "Gotham". "Big Bang", meanwhile, is up for Favorite Network TV Comedy, competing with "2 Broke Girls", "Mike & Molly", "Modern Family" and "New Girl".
In actor/actress categories, "Grey's" helps Jesse Williams and Justin Chambers land a nomination for Favorite Dramatic TV Actor, while co-stars Ellen Pompeo and Sara Ramirez are up against each other for Favorite Dramatic TV Actress.
"Big Bang" lead stars Jim Parsons and Johnny Galecki are joined by Andy Samberg, Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Matthew Perry in Favorite Comedic TV Actor category. Kaley Cuoco also scores a Favorite Comedic TV Actress nod, facing strong competitions from Anna Faris, Melissa McCarthy, Sofia Vergara and Zooey Deschanel.
Other shows with multiple nominations include "Scandal", "Empire", "How to Get Away with Murder", "Pretty Little Liars", "Homeland", "The Vampire Diaries", "The Walking Dead" and many more. Freshmen "Scream Queens" and "Supergirl" also score a nomination for Favorite New TV Comedy and Drama respectively.
Fans can vote for their favorites on PeoplesChoice.com. The winners in TV, movie, music and other categories will be announced in a ceremony that will broadcast live from the Microsoft Theater at L.A. Live on January 6, 2016 at 9 P.M. ET on CBS. Jane Lynch is set to host the show.
