Born to actor parents, Jeff Bridges had been familiar with acting since he was a kid, making his screen debut at mere age of 2 on his father's show "Sea Hunt" and the CBS anthology series "The Lloyd Bridges Show". After few minor parts in TV shows and movies, he landed his first major role in the 1971 film "The Last Picture Show" as Duane Jackson. He was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for the character. His next role as Lightfoot in crime flick "Thunderbolt and Lightfoot" earned him another Best Supporting Actor Oscar nomination. This achievement was followed by a part in the commercially success first remake of "King Kong", which featured him as the protagonist Jack Prescott.
In 1982, Bridges was billed to portray video game programmer Kevin Flynn in the science fiction cult classic "Tron", a role that he reprised in the 2010 "Tron: Legacy". He had since become a frequent in a number of major notable films, which among others included "Kiss Me Goodbye", "Starman", "Against All Odds", "Jagged Edge", and "Fearless". His next film "The contender" earned him multiple award nominations, namely Oscar, Golden Globe, Satellite Award, and Screen Actors Guild Award.
