AceShowbiz - The nominations for the 82nd annual Golden Globe Awards have been announced, setting the stage for what is undoubtedly going to be one of the most star-studded events of the year. As announced by Mindy Kaling and Morris Chestnut, this year's nominees are ready to shine brighter than ever when the ceremony airs live on January 5, 2025, on CBS and streaming on Paramount+.
French musical crime-thriller "Emilia Perez," directed by Jacques Audiard and featuring stars such as Zoe Saldana, Selena Gomez, and Karla Sofia Gascon, leads the nominations with an impressive 10 nods.
The film is vying for Best Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy and Best Motion Picture - Non-English Language category while its stars Karla Sofía Gascón, Zoe Saldaña, and Selena Gomez receive individual nominations for their performances.
Close on its heels is "The Brutalist," an epic period drama, securing seven nominations.
On the television front, Hulu's "The Bear" has emerged as a strong contender with five nominations, followed by "Only Murders in the Building" and "Shogun," which each collected four.
This year's ceremony will also mark a historic moment as comedian Nikki Glaser becomes the first woman to solo host the Golden Globes. Glaser, 40, shared her excitement stating, "It's an exciting yet challenging gig because it's live, unpredictable and in front of Hollywood's biggest stars."
