AceShowbiz - Sabrina Carpenter talked about the creation of one of her hit singles during an appearance on vocal coach Eric Vetro's BBC Maestro course, "Sing Like the Stars." During the session, she discussed the inspiration behind "Please Please Please."

"I was so excited when I wrote that song," Carpenter said. "It was a part of me I had been eager to express. It aligns perfectly with my musical influences and my own identity." She added, "And that song was obviously based on real-life events."

The song's lyrics, which include the line "Heartbreak is one thing, my ego's another/ I beg you, don't embarrass me, motherf**ker," point to a tumultuous relationship.

Carpenter's discussion came days after reports surfaced that she had split with boyfriend actor Barry Keoghan, who starred in the music video for "Please Please Please."

"I was so excited for the rest of the project," Carpenter said. "It feels like a fraction of me that I have been waiting to share."

Carpenter also discussed her approach to songwriting, emphasizing the importance of lyrics, melody, and storytelling. "Sonically, it's something I love so much," she said.

In addition to her songwriting insights, Carpenter shared that her holiday special, "A Nonsense Christmas," was released on Netflix in December. She will embark on a European tour in March.
