"Game of Thrones" gets a number of nominations at the 66th annual Primetime Emmy Awards. The series nabs at least 19 nods, leading HBO to receive a total of 99 nominations. FX also dominates the list with "Fargo" receiving 18 nods and "American Horror Story: Coven" getting 17. Netflix follows with 31 nominations, thanks to the multiple nods by "Orange Is the New Black" and "House of Cards".
In Outstanding Drama Series, frequent nominees like "House of Cards", "Game of Thrones", "Downton Abbey", "Breaking Bad", and "Mad Men" are joined in the battle by newcomer "True Detective". In Outstanding Comedy Series, "Orange Is the New Black" is listed along with "The Big Bang Theory", "Louie", "Modern Family", "Silicon Valley", and "Veep".
"True Detective" stars Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson are competing against each other for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series. The other contenders are Bryan Cranston ("Breaking Bad"), Jeff Daniels ("The Newsroom"), Jon Hamm ("Mad Men"), and Kevin Spacey ("House of Cards").
Spacey's co-star Robin Wright is vying for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series, facing off Lizzy Caplan ("Masters of Sex"), Claire Danes ("Homeland"), Michelle Dockery ("Downton Abbey"), Julianna Margulies ("The Good Wife"), and Kerry Washington ("Scandal").
Meanwhile, Outstanding Actor in a Comedy Series lists Louis C.K. ("Louie"), Don Cheadle ("House of Lies"), Ricky Gervais ("Derek"), Matt LeBlanc ("Episodes"), William H. Macy ("Shameless"), and Jim Parsons ("The Big Bang Theory").
Lena Dunham ("Girls") is nominated for Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series along with Edie Falco ("Nurse Jackie"), Julia Louis-Dreyfus ("Veep"), Melissa McCarthy ("Mike & Molly"), Amy Poehler ("Parks and Recreation"), and Taylor Schilling ("Orange Is the New Black").
