From hit-maker Chuck Lorre comes his next big comedy-an irreverent and outrageous take on true family love-and dysfunction. Newly sober single mom Christy struggles to raise two children in a world full of temptations and pitfalls. Testing her sobriety is her formerly estranged mother, now back in Christy's life and eager to share passive-aggressive insights into her daughter's many mistakes.
In the Season Finale, Christy became infuriated when Bonnie fell off the wagon. Their relationship became so contentious that their closest friends and family excluded them from gatherings, culminating with Roscoe announcing that he would prefer to live with his father and his new girlfriend. Christy blamed Bonnie for this development and attempted to move out, but ultimately returned home to make amends.
In the new season, Christy and Bonnie continue to stay strong in their sobriety but will each face other challenges. Both of Christy's kids engage in questionable behavior, with Violet's bad judgment forcing her to move back home and Roscoe experimenting with pot. Also, Bonnie is delighted when Adam (new series regular William Fichtner) returns home, but his drinking becomes an issue for her, and Aunt Jeanine (guest star Rosie O'Donnell) returns and encourages Christy to quit school to become a real estate agent.
