AceShowbiz - "Pretty Little Liars" and "The Vampire Diaries" lead the pack in the TV category of this year's Teen Choice Awards. The ABC Family teen drama thriller and The CW supernatural series get the most nods with five nominations apiece including favorite drama for the former and favorite sci-fi/fantasy for the latter.
Two "Pretty Little Liars" male stars, Ian Harding and Keegan Allen, are up for favorite actor in the drama genre. Meanwhile, the female members Lucy Hale and Shay Mitchell are nominated for favorite actress. In sci-fi/fantasy, "Vampire Diaries" hunks Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley are vying for favorite actor while Candice Accola and Nina Dobrev are competing for the favorite actress.
FOX's hip-hop drama "Empire" gets four nods including favorite drama and CBS' sitcom "The Big Bang Theory" receive three including favorite comedy. "Empire" stars Terrence Howard, Jussie Smollett, and Taraji P. Henson are additionally up for acting prizes and so are "Big Bang Theory" crew Jim Parsons and Kaley Cuoco.
Honoring teens' favorites in TV, movie, music, and other pop culture, the awards show will take place on August 16. More nominees are expected to be announced in the coming week. Host and a recipient for the special Ultimate Choice Award will also be announced soon.
