Meredith's Engaged to Alex in First 10 Minutes of 'Grey's Anatomy' Alt-Reality Episode
January 30, 2012 09:01:05An extended preview for the next episode of "Grey's Anatomy" has been debuted, sharing the first 10 minutes of the alt-reality edition. It all begins as Meredith, after putting Zola to bed and going to sleep, wonders what life would've been if her mother had never had Alzheimer's and she'd had a good dad.
In the alternate universe she imagines, Mer lives with her mother Ellis, who is married to Richard. Mer is also engaged to Alex, while Addison is still with Derek and pregnant. Callie and Owen have three kids together, whom they bring to the Seattle Grace that day. Cristina, meanwhile, is a person who is not likable.

2012 NAACP Image Awards Nominations in TV: 'Grey's Anatomy' and 'The Game' Top List With 6
January 20, 2012 10:01:07The NAACP has announced the nominees for its 43rd annual Image Awards on Thursday, January 19 at the Paley Center for Media in Beverly Hills, revealing the domination of "Grey's Anatomy" and "The Game" in TV field. The two shows are tied on top with six mentions each.
"Grey's" is nominated for Outstanding Drama Series, battling it out with "Boardwalk Empire", "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit", "The Good Wife" and "Treme". The medical drama series gets two additional noms from Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series category for Chandra Wilson and Sandra Oh's performances.

'Grey's Anatomy' and 'Private Practice' to Stage Another Crossover Episode
January 06, 2012 01:01:27The lives of doctors at Seattle Grace and Oceanside Health & Wellness will once again collide when "Grey's Anatomy" and "Private Practice" stage another crossover. According to TV Guide, an episode which is scheduled to air in mid-February will feature Caterina Scorsone's Amelia heading to the Seattle hospital.
Details of the episode are scarce, but it is expected that Amelia will rebuild her relationship with her brother Derek, now that she is getting clean and sober. In season 7 crossover, she visited Derek at Seattle Grace in hopes to reconcile with Derek after she abused drugs while grieving the death of her father.

'Grey's Anatomy': Derek and Addison Reunite in Alternate Reality

It has been reported that the medical drama show will take the Seattle Grace doctors to an alternate reality in a February 2012 outing as the episode launches a question, "What if things had been different - very different?"
The question apparently represents what's in Meredith's head as she imagines what life would've been like had her late mother Ellis never had Alzheimer's. One thing that would probably happen is that Derek and Addison never broke up.

"He's as surprised as anybody else about this. And he's nervous about it," Kevin McKidd, who portrays Owen, dished on his character's reaction. "He's a man of action, really, and the head of trauma surgery - that's what he knows. Suddenly, he's in a more administrative position. I think the way he deals with that is going to be interesting."

'Grey's Anatomy' Creator Spills Details of Musical Episode
November 25, 2010 10:11:14"Grey's Anatomy" is to be turned into a musical for a one-off episode which will test the cast's singing skills. The medical drama, which stars Ellen Pompeo and Patrick Dempsey, will follow in the footsteps of hit teen series "Buffy the Vampire Slayer", which produced a popular all-singing-all-dancing installment in 2001.
Executive producer Shonda Rhimes is adamant the musical episode will be done tastefully, and insists fans will be surprised by some of the stars' talent. She tells TVGuide.com, "Nobody is going to be dancing and singing down the halls; that's not our show. Our show is known for its music.
