Seth MacFarlane Slams Fake 'Family Guy' Boston Marathon Bombing Clip

In the wake of Boston Marathon bombings, a "" clip surfaced online suggesting that the show predicted the attack. The footage, which has been confirmed as an Internet hoax, mashes up unrelated scenes from a March 17 episode of the FOX animated series to make it as if the show depicted the bombings.

Responding to the senseless act, series creator took to Twitter to condemn it. "The edited Family Guy clip currently circulating is abhorrent," he wrote on Tuesday, April 16. "The event was a crime and a tragedy, and my thoughts are with the victims."

Nielsen and Twitter to Lauch New TV Metric Based on Social Media

Nielsen is teaming up with Twitter to create another tool that can be used as an indicator to determine TV shows' popularity. Called Nielsen Twitter TV Rating, the new audience metric will enhance the social TV analytics and metrics available today from SocialGuide by adding the first-ever measurement of the total audience for social TV activity.

"The Nielsen Twitter TV Rating is a significant step forward for the industry, particularly as programmers develop increasingly captivating live TV and new second-screen experiences, and advertisers create integrated ad campaigns that combine paid and earned media," says Nielsen president of global media products and advertiser solutions Steve Hasker.

'Family Guy', 'American Dad!' Episodes Pulled Off Following Connecticut Massacre

The shooting massacre in Connecticut prompted FOX to pull this upcoming Sunday, December 16 episodes of "" and "". The network did not give a reason but it's most likely they want to avoid airing any insensitive content following the Friday incident at Sandy Hook elementary school in Newtown, CT.

The new episodes of "Family Guy" and "American Dad!" will be replaced by repeats of "Grumpy Old Man" and "Wheels & The Legman and The Case of Grandpa's Key" respectively. Meanwhile, a 7 P.M. repeat of "" titled "Die Semi-Hard" has also been pulled off and will be replaced by another repeat titled "Menace II Secret Society".
