AceShowbiz - The first wave of nominees for the upcoming Teen Choice Awards is announced. One Direction is nominated for Male Hottie, battling Zayn Malik who left the boyband earlier this year. Other candidates are 5 Seconds of Summer, Austin Mahone, Justin Bieber, and Ryan Guzman.

Meanwhile, Miley Cyrus is vying for Female Hottie. She is facing off the likes of Taylor Swift, Cara Delevingne, Fifth Harmony, Rihanna, and Selena Gomez. Contenders for this year's favorite comedian include Amy Schumer, Ellen Degeneres, George Lopez, Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel, and Kevin Hart.

Honoring teens' favorites in TV, movie, music, and other pop culture, the awards show will take place on August 16. More nominees are expected to be announced in the coming week. Host and a recipient for the special Ultimate Choice Award will also be announced soon.
