Back at their apartment, Nick and Schmidt engage in class warfare when the toilet breaks and they each have their own idea of how to get it fixed. Schmidt, however, loses his cool and accuses Nick of using his conditioner. Wanting it back, he tells Nick, "I'm squezzing it out of your hair."

'New Girl' Absent Until November to Give More Time for 'X Factor'
October 11, 2011 08:10:27Having just broadcast three episodes, "New Girl" will be off the air until November. FOX has changed its October schedule to expand "The X Factor (US)" from ninety minutes to two hours, leading to three-week absence of the new favorite comedy series.
The first original episode to be shelved is a Wednesday special "Cece Crashes" which was planned to air on October 12. "Naked", which was supposed to air on October 18, is also pulled out of the line-up, while the network had previously decided to pre-empt the October 25 episode of "New Girl" for the new reality show from Simon Cowell.

Zooey Deschanel's 'New Girl' Gets Full Season Order
September 29, 2011 08:09:48FOX has given a full TV season order for "New Girl" after broadcasting just two episodes of the new series. The network ordered additional 11 episodes of the Zooey Deschanel-starring comedy, bringing its season 1 order to 24 episodes and making it the first freshman which gets full season pickup this fall.
"We love the charming Zooey Deschanel and the entire cast, we're knocked out with the work that Liz Meriwether and the whole staff is doing and we are really psyched about the upcoming episodes in the pipeline," FOX president Kevin Reilly said on Wednesday, September 28. "It's great that audiences have responded so positively so far and we're confident that even more people will embrace the show - and more comedy on FOX - this season."

'New Girl' Has Strong Debut as 'Glee' Slips

FOX's new show "New Girl" made an impressive performance on its debut night with 10.1 million total viewers (4.8 rating) tuning in the episode which aired on Tuesday, September 20 while its lead-in, popular series "Glee", only drew 8.7 million viewers (3.8 rating).
"New Girl" total audience was up 36% compared to the one garnered by the premiere of "Raising Hope" in September 2010 which was led by the "Glee" second season opener. Its rating in demo also showed a 55% bump, marking the highest-rated fall sitcom debut in a decade for FOX.

Justin Long Lands 'New Girl' Role
September 02, 2011 03:09:50"New Girl" has found the love interest for Zooey Deschanel's character. The new comedy series, which will debut September 20 at 9 P.M. on FOX, has cast Justin Long as Paul, a music teacher and a suitor for Deschanel's Jessica Day.
The Alex of "He's Just Not That Into You" will start appearing on the show in the sixth episode, and recur in other two episodes. This marks his first major TV role since his breakthrough gig on NBC's "Ed".
