Other artists who nab multiple nominations for the annual music award show which will air live from New York's Madison Square Garden on Sunday, August 28 at 9 P.M. ET are Drake, who earns 6 nominations for his "Hotline Bling" video, Ariana Grande with 5 noms and Rihanna with 4 noms.

Unfortunately, Nick Jonas, Selena Gomez, Meghan Trainor and Little Mix don't get nominated this year. On Twitter, Nick expresses his disappointment over his "Close" video snub.

"Disappointed with the fact Close got no love for the #VMAs2016," Nick writes, before quickly changing his tune, "Actually after thinking about it more there are so many amazing things happening in my life and career. 9 out of 10 boxes are checked...Won't let this one thing get to me. I'm feeling so inspired and grateful these days. Gonna focus more on caring less about the small stuff. Everything is awesome."

Starting today, fans can vote for Video of the Year, Best Male Video, Best Female Video and the new Best Long Form Video category at vma.mtv.com. Best New Artist voting will remain live through the VMAs pre-show. Fans can also vote for the category on Facebook Messenger beginning from August 15. Nominees for the socially voted category and Best Song of Summer will be announced at a later date.
