Sugarland led the pack of 2009 Country Music Television (CMT) Awards nominations after a 30-minute special announcement of the nominees was held on May 19 at 10 A.M. ET/PT. This musical duo consisting of Kristian Bush and Jennifer Nettles got five gongs in total.
Sugarland were listed among the contenders of Video of the Year, Collaborative Video of the Year, CMT Performance of the Year and Duo Video of the Year. In the latest category, they received two nods for "All I Want to Do" and "Already Gone" music videos, facing off other videos from Brooks & Dunn for single "Put a Girl in It" and from Montgomery Gentry for track "Roll With Me".
Following Sugarland's domination in the awards' nominations list were Brad Paisley and Taylor Swift, both of whom got four nods each. Out of the four nominations, they will go head-to-head against each other and are up against Sugarland in Video of the Year category, which short list will be unveiled at the beginning of the live awards telecast on June 16.
This year's CMT Awards will be held at Nashville's Sommet Center. Taylor Swift, Rascal Flatts, Toby Keith, Brad Paisley, Trace Adkins, Jason Aldean, Dierks Bentley, Sugarland, Keith Urban and Def Leppard will be making live appearances at the event. Fans can vote for its winners on CMT Awards site before June 15.
