Country Band Rascal Flatts Making Special Appearance in 'Hannah Montana'
June 05, 2008 11:06:17As if the making of "Hannah Montana: The Movie" is not enough to excite many young fans of Miley Cyrus, the comedy musical film will be having a special appearance from a Grammy Award-winning country group. On Wednesday, June 4, it has been confirmed that "Take Me There" hitmaker Rascal Flatts are going to take a part in the teenage flick.
On the matter, a spokeswoman for the group's Lyric Street Records announced that the band composed of Gary LeVox, Jay DeMarcus and Joe Don Rooney will appear as well as perform in the Walt Disney Pictures' movie. Additionally, Flatts' Nashville-based record label is a part of the Disney Music Group through which Cyrus and her father Billy Ray Cyrus also record their albums. Other than those information, further details about the "Bless the Broken Road" singers' appearance aren't put out.

Having their album "Me and My Gang" sold nearly 345,000 copies in the week ended April 16, country trio Rascal Flatts hold strong their No. 1 position on the Billboard 200, to be on top of the pop album chart for a second week Wednesday April 19th, 2006. After such tough challenge, Keith Urban's "White Trash With Money" finally only secures the 2nd place on the chart with about 330,000 units.
At No. 3 is "Now That's What I Call Music! 21" by various artists which is sold 293,000 copies, followed by the "High School Musical" soundtrack which holds at No. 4 for a second week with 256,000. Rapper T.I.'s "King", in the meantime, slips two to No. 5 with 136,000, ahead of LL Cool J's "Todd Smith" at No. 6, sold 116,000 copies and Tim McGraw's "Greatest Hits Vol. 2 -- Reflected" at No. 7.

The "King" no longer seats on the throne. It means T.I. no longer rules the Billboard 200. The rapper sadly has to give away the top position on the album chart to country trio Rascal Flatts whose album "Me and My Gang" sold 722,000 copies, to easily debut at No. 1 on the U.S. pop charts, while T.I.'s "King" drops to No. 3 with 185,000 copies.
The second best on the chart is the pop hits collection "Now That's What I Call Music! 21" selling 334,000 copies. The soundtrack to Disney's "High School Musical" slips one from last week's position to be at No. 4 with 181,000 copies, ahead of Tim McGraw's "Greatest Hits Vol. 2" at No. 5 sold for 128,000 copies. Enter the Billboard 200 at No. 6 with 126,000 copies is Pink's fourth album, "I'm Not Dead".

Not only scores great in American Idol, she also scores double at the 2006 Country Music Television (CMT) awards show Monday April 10th, 2006. Brought home the Female Video of the Year award, the singer also nabbed the Breakthrough Video of the Year prize as well, both for "Jesus, Take the Wheel".
Meanwhile, fellow musician Keith Urban won Video of the Year award for "Better Life" and Brad Paisley's "When I Get Where I'm Going" was chosen as the Most Inspiring Video of the Year. The Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart has a new champion as Carrie Underwood's "Jesus, Take the Wheel" has been replaced by Brad Paisley and Dolly Parton's "When I Get Where I'm Going". This succession marks Paisley's fifth chart topper since "Mud on the Tires" held pole position the week of February 5, 2005. Meanwhile, it's the 25th No. 1 for Parton.
At No. 2 on the chart is Josh Turner's "Your Man", followed closely behind by Underwood's "Jesus, Take the Wheel" at No. 3 and Kenny Chesney's "Living In Fast Forward" at No. 4. Lee Ann Womack Dominates the 39th CMA

All the event attendances witnessing the singer's victory, brought home the awards for Album of the Year for "There's More Where That Came From," Single of the Year for "I May Hate Myself in the Morning," and Musical Event of the Year for "Good News, Bad News," a duet with George Strait.
Meanwhile, Australian-born singer Keith Urban only won two, which were Male Vocalist of the Year for a second year in a row and Entertainer of the Year. ASCAP Fete Chesney Voice of Music Award

Among them is Kenny Chesney who wins the ASCAP Voice of Music Award, when accepting which the star says "First and foremost, I consider myself a songwriter." Chesney's next album "The Road and the Radio," reportedly will be released next month.
Also granted an award at the 43rd Annual ASCAP is Craig Wiseman of group Rascal Flatts who is given the ASCAP Songwriter of the Year prize for singles "In a Real Love," "Live Like You Were Dying," "Rough and Ready" and "That's What It's All About." Moreover, the Tim McGraw hit "Live Like You Were Dying," which Wiseman co-wrote with Tim Nichols, is named Song of the Year.
