October 14, 2009 09:10:50During a press event taking place on October 13 at the Beverly Hills Hotel, this year's nominations for American Music Awards have been announced by Adam Lambert, Paula Abdul and Snoop Dogg. The repicients are picked up based on "the data supplied by the Nielsen Company's Broadcast Data Systems, which monitors radio airplay performance, and SoundScan, which tracks retail music sales."
Taylor Swift, whose album "Fearless" has spent more than 30 weeks on Billboard Hot 200, receives six nods followed by Michael Jackson with five and Eminem with four each. The country music beauty is listed as one of the contenders for Favorite Female Artist and Favorite Album in Pop/Rock and Country Music categories. Also, she is vying for Favorite Artist in Adult Contemporary Music.

April 06, 2009 02:04:45Jason Aldean, who was awarded Top New Male Vocalist at 2006 Academy of Country Music Awards, is ready to release his third studio album "Wide Open". Planning to drop it in U.S. on April 7, he is once again working with producer Michael Knox, who was also involved in the making of Jason's two previous albums.
"I feel like with my first two albums, I was trying to dial in who I was as an artist and what my fans liked and expected to hear from me," Jason has commented on his new album. "Four years into it, I think understand that now, and I'm really just starting to hit my stride. I'm excited to see what happens the next few weeks and months because I'm really proud of the new album."
Rascal Flatts, Jennifer Love Hewitt Among Presenters for 2009 ACM Awards
April 03, 2009 04:04:16Both country music band Rascal Flatts and actress Jennifer Love Hewitt have been listed as presenters at the 44th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards. They are going to present awards at the annual event on April 5.
Other country music singers tapped as presenters at the ceremony are Kellie Pickler, Jason Aldean, Dierks Bentley, Billy Ray Cyrus, Jack Ingram, Martina McBride, Darius Rucker, Blake Shelton. In addition to them, R&B/soul singer Jamie Foxx, actor Matthew McConaughey and supermodel Marisa Miller also join them in the presenters list.
R. Kelly Scored #1 with "Double Up"

As expected, R. Kelly's "Double Up" opened at #1 on Billboard Hot 200 chart this week with nearly 368,000 copies sold. The release of this record makes his eight solo album to enter the chart at either #1 or #2.
With the exception of his debut album in 1992, R. Kelly has spawned continuous chart topping albums that are always beyond the 100,000 parameter. His sophomore effort "12 Play" debuted at #2 while the following self-titled album was treated better with #1 entry. The fourth, fifth and others entered the chart at either no. 1 or 2.
A New Batch of Presenters in CMT's 2007 Awards

A new row of names has been added to be the presenters of the 2007 CMT's Music Awards. They are Kellie Pickler, Barbara Mandrell, Jason Aldean, Josh Turner, LeAnn Rimes, Taylor Swift and former professional wrestler Steve Austin.
The event that will take place in Nashville on April 16 will allow fans to choose "Flatt Out Fan Favorite" apart from voting the winners for the awards. This newly added program is based on Rascal Flatts song that will also be performed on the show.
Final Nominees for the 2007 CMT Music Awards

The final nominees for this year's CMT Music Awards have been announced Wednesday Feb 28th. Among them there are Rascal Flatts, Kenny Chesney, and Carrie Underwood who are the leading nominees, with three nominations each.
As of Rascal Flatts, the American Country band vies for the categories of Video of the Year for "What Hurts the Most" and Group Video of the Year for "Life Is a Highway" and "What Hurts the Most". Chesney, in the meantime, is nominated for Video of the Year, Male Video of the Year, and Video Director of the Year all for "You Save Me".

The 41st annual Academy of Country Music (ACM) Awards held Tuesday night May 23rd, 2006 saw the winning of several notable musicians. Among the many winners at the prestigious event, there was Brooks & Dunn who nabbed two awards all at once, one of which was for Vocal Duo category while the other one was for Song of the Year for "Believe".
Elsewhere, the Male Vocalist award went to Keith Urban and the Female Vocalist prize was given to Sara Evans. Besides them all there were also Rascal Flatts and Jason Aldean to mention some others, each of which brought home the award for the category of Vocal Group and New Male Vocalist. As of the Female Vocalist award the winner was Carrie Underwood who at the same time also won Single Record of the Year for "Jesus Take the Wheel".
