September 18, 2009 01:09:23Footage from the revived VH1 Divas Concert has arrived, featuring live performances from young artists, such as Miley Cyrus and Leona Lewis. During the September 17 gig, Miley delivered "Party in the U.S.A", and Leona sang "Happy".
Other headliners also performed their latest singles. Kelly Clarkson entertained concertgoers with "Already Gone", and Jordin Sparks invited audience to dance with "S.O.S. (Let the Music Play)". As for Jennifer Hudson and Adele, both of them brought the first singles from their debut albums. Jennifer came out with "Spotlight", and Adele took the stage with "Hometown Glory".

2009 CMA Awards Nominations Outed, Brad Paisley Gets Most Nods

Coming to GMA announcing the nominees were Darius Rucker and Lee Ann Womack. Meanwhile, the press conference in Nashville was hosted by Cody Alan and Alecia Davis with Randy Houser as its announcer.
Leading the nominations list was Brad Paisley who took home six kudos. He will compete in such categories as Entertainer of the Year, Male Vocalist, Single of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year and Music Video. Following Brad's domination were Keith Urban, Jamey Johnson, George Strait, Taylor Swift and Zac Brown Band with four nods each. Other country musicians who grabbed multiple nods include Kenny Chesney and Randy.

Sugarland were listed among the contenders of Video of the Year, Collaborative Video of the Year, CMT Performance of the Year and Duo Video of the Year. In the latest category, they received two nods for "All I Want to Do" and "Already Gone" music videos, facing off other videos from Brooks & Dunn for single "Put a Girl in It" and from Montgomery Gentry for track "Roll With Me".

Among the categories Chesney is nominated in are Top Male Vocalist and kudos for his album, single, video and song. Chesney, who is a reigning ACM Entertainer of the Year is again running for the same category this year and should he win the title again, he will be in tie with Garth Brooks as the prime academy winner in the category.

A 15.7 per cent increase is gained by the album sales this week, thanks to the highly commercial "Now That's What I Call Music! 24" that moves 213,000 units. Despite the compilation's 7 per cent drop from last week, it enters the chart at #1, a flip-flop position to last week's reigner "Let It Go" by Tim McGraw. The country singer's album has to give up the top position after a 46 per cent drop at 177,000.
A new album from country diva Martina McBride titled "Waking Up Laughing" bows at #3 by selling 144,000 copies at the first week. Just one position behind is teen star-turning mature Hilary Duff with her third studio album "Dignity" that sells 140,000. The biggest surprise of all in the chart comes next. Just when everybody thinks the hottest producer in town will shoot straight to No. 1, they have to question why Timbaland only debuts at No. 5. His " Timbaland Presents Shock Value" moves 138,000 copies despite the first single "Give It To Me" featuring Justin Timberlake and Nelly Furtado that constantly climbs up the Hot 100 chart.

Martina McBride's single "Anyway" will be heard quite often lately. Apart from being the first single released from the album "Waking Up laughing", "Anyway" is also the single that will anchor a video trailer about anti violence.
"It's always great when your music not only entertains but makes a difference in others lives. Lifetime Television also does that with their programming. It's a good fit for me," McBride said in an interview with Billboard.com. Some scenes from her "Anyway" video will be featured along with photo stills from photographer Nobuko Oyabu and scenes from Lifetime Television's movie "A Life Inspired".

It's been 11 years and now the country music star is back. Reba McEntire is back on track. The singer will mark her comeback to the music scene with a performance at the 2007 CMA Music festival in June later this year.
Joining McEntire will be such top country acts, as Carrie Underwood, The Wreckers, Martina McBride and Sugarland. As of this year, the CMA Music festival will be held in Nashville, Tennessee on June 7-10. Proceeds will benefit the Keep the Music Playing campaign to promote music education in local schools.

The set is reported to sell for 378,000 copies in the week ended November 6. Right behind the chart topping is Santana's "All That I Am" which becoming the second best album of the week with sales of 142,000 copies.
At No. 3 is Nickelback's "All The Right Reasons" which sold for 101,000 copies, ahead of Black Eyed Peas' "Monkey Business" at No. 4 with 86,000 and Destiny's Child's "#1's" at 5th with 85,000. Teen pop singer Ashlee Simpson successfully tops the U.S. pop charts on Wednesday with her new album "I Am Me" sold 220,000 copies in the week ended October 23. To follow her at No. 2 on the chart is Rod Stewart's "Thanks for the Memories," with sales of 193,000 copies.
Opens at No. 3 is Martina McBride's "Timeless" which sold for 185,000 copies, ahead of Canadian rock band Nickelback's "All the Right Reasons" at No. 4 with 132,000 copies in its third week and Stevie Wonder's "A Time To Love" at No. 5 with 121,000 copies. To start at No. 6 is Houston rapper Bun B's solo effort "Trill" with 118,000 copies. McBride to Build Playground
April 29, 2005 11:04:00Martina McBride will team up with the home improvement retailer "Home Depot" to build a playground near her hometown in Kansas with help from the nonprofit group KaBOOM! on Friday in Medicine Lodge. The playground, built 10 miles from her hometown of Sharon, Kansas, is planned to replace the outdated equipment in City Park and serve more than 300 children who live in the area. Describing on the project, McBride said "The City Park is the source of many happy memories for me and my family. I grew up playing on its playground, and we had countless family reunions and gatherings there."
