Kellie Pickler and Julianne Hough Are 2009 CMA Awards Presenters
October 28, 2009 11:10:17Several presenters for this year's Country Music Association Awards have been announced. Kellie Pickler, Julianne Hough and LeAnn Rimes are recruited for the job when the show is aired live from the Sommet Center in Nashville, Wednesday, November 11.
Joining them to present awards at the annual event are NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt Jr., "Good Morning America" co-host Robin Roberts as well as cast of ABC's "The Middle", Neil Flynn and Patricia Heaton. There are also the likes of Jake Owen and Randy Houser in the presenters ensemble.
2009 CMA Awards Nominations Outed, Brad Paisley Gets Most Nods
September 10, 2009 09:09:36Nomination recipients for this year's CMA Awards have been revealed at ABC's "Good Morning America" and CMT's studio in Nashville on September 9. Coming to GMA announcing the nominees were Darius Rucker and Lee Ann Womack. Meanwhile, the press conference in Nashville was hosted by Cody Alan and Alecia Davis with Randy Houser as its announcer.
Leading the nominations list was Brad Paisley who took home six kudos. He will compete in such categories as Entertainer of the Year, Male Vocalist, Single of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year and Music Video. Following Brad's domination were Keith Urban, Jamey Johnson, George Strait, Taylor Swift and Zac Brown Band with four nods each. Other country musicians who grabbed multiple nods include Kenny Chesney and Randy.

April 06, 2009 11:04:22Carrie Underwood was given her second prize at 2009 Academy of Country Music Awards, being named Entertainer of the Year. She put aside Kenny Chesney, Brad Paisley, George Strait and Keith Urban.
"I've had a lot of good moments in the last four years," Carrie delivered her acceptance speech. "This one takes the cake. 'Thank you God. Thank you fans' ... I never thought I'd be nominated, and I never thought I'd win. I don't know what to say. I got nothing." She ended it by letting out a scream and swirling around before exiting the stage.
Julianne Hough, Jake Owen Are Early Winners of 2009 ACM Awards
March 07, 2009 09:03:34Despite the fact that gala ceremony for the 44th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards is still a month away, several winners for the event have been disclosed. Announced on Friday, March 6, it was revealed that Julianne Hough and Jake Owen were among the singers winning the coveted awards.
Hough grabbed a trophy for Top New Female Vocalist, beating down Sarah Buxton and Ashton Shepherd. Meanwhile, Owen was named Top New Male Vocalist, winning over Jamey Johnson and James Otto.
