Brooks and Dunn Announce Their Split
August 11, 2009 09:08:24It is official, country music duo Brooks & Dunn call it quits. As a farewell to their fans, this group promise to release a greatest hits album titled "#1s... And Then Some" across America on September 8 and embark on "The Last Rodeo Tour" in 2010.
"After 20 years of making music and riding this trail together, we have agreed as a duo that it's time call it a day," they announced on their official website. "This ride has been everything and more than we could ever have dreamed. ... We owe it all to you, the fans. If you hear rumors, don't believe them, it's just time."
2009 CMT Awards Nominees Revealed, Sugarland Grab the Most Nods
May 20, 2009 09:05:53Sugarland led the pack of 2009 Country Music Television (CMT) Awards nominations after a 30-minute special announcement of the nominees was held on May 19 at 10 A.M. ET/PT. This musical duo consisting of Kristian Bush and Jennifer Nettles got five gongs in total.
Sugarland were listed among the contenders of Video of the Year, Collaborative Video of the Year, CMT Performance of the Year and Duo Video of the Year. In the latest category, they received two nods for "All I Want to Do" and "Already Gone" music videos, facing off other videos from Brooks & Dunn for single "Put a Girl in It" and from Montgomery Gentry for track "Roll With Me".
Full Nominations List of 44th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards
February 12, 2009 11:02:15The nominees for this year's Academy of Country Music Awards have been revealed during a press conference at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum in Nashville on February 11. Announced by Julianne Hough, Kellie Pickler, LeAnn Rimes and Jessica Simpson, it was revealed that Brad Paisley and Heidi Newfield both led the pack with six and four counts respectively.
Brad and Heidi were up against each other in Single Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Video of the Year. For the three categories, they were joined by such contenders as Miranda Lambert, Trace Adkins, Jamey Johnson and Carrie Underwood among others.
Country Music Duo Brooks and Dunn Get Stars on Hollywood Walk of Fame
August 05, 2008 02:08:58Having been working in the industry for years, it was not until Monday, August 4 that Brooks & Dunn received their stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The country music duo received the 2,367th star on Hollywood Boulevard in a ceremony attended by talk show host Phil McGraw and his wife, Robin, who described themselves as avid fans of the singers.
"I've had the pleasure of knowing these guys really well for a number of years now," McGraw said when referring to the recording artists. "It is truly an honor for me to be a part of this."
Toby Keith Tops Forbes List of Country's Top Earners

According to the publication, the singer is raking in an estimated $48 million over the last year, thanks to his major endorsement deal with Ford trucks, involvement in his I Love This Bar & Grill chain of restaurants, and ownership of his record label, Show Dog Nashville.
Country trio Rascal Flatts comes in second on the list, with $40 million in earnings. The music group's inclusion in the list is because of their Top 10 2007 tour that proved to help them earning such amount of earnings.
Tim McGraw to Begin Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo
January 08, 2008 11:01:15Organizers of Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo announced on Monday (January 7) that Tim McGraw will kick off the concert series which will be held at Reliant Park. The country singer is among the 21 artists highlighting the event with their solo performances.
McGraw will hit the stage on March 3 and followed by his wife Faith Hill the next day. The shows will all run in March and end on date 22 when country duo Brooks & Dunn give the closure.

While awards for their 2005 effort "Hillbilly DeLuxe" are still warm, country duo Brooks & Dunn are delivering their next treat. "Cowboy Town" will mark their twelfth studio album that arrives October 2 via Arista Nashville.
Speaking on the sound of the record, Ronnie Dunn told Billboard, "This really is kind of like cowboys meet the Rolling Stones. There's a bunch of fun stuff on there. And it sounds different than anything we've ever done."

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce Walk of Fame Committee announced on Wednesday June 20th the Walk of Fame recipients for 2008. Among the many names mentioned there are the likes of Brooks & Dunn, Ricky Martin, Christina Aguilera, Red Hot Chili Peppers and George Harrison, who are all granted Hollywood stars in the recording category.
On the Motion Pictures category, the recipients are Angela Bassett, Cate Blanchett, Stan Lee, The Munchkins (from "The Wizard of Oz"), Tim Robbins and The Westmores of Hollywood, a longtime show business makeup family.

Two times winner Kenny Chesney secured its third winning for the category Entertainer of the Year, beating this year's frontrunner George Strait. They have announced that their 30 coast-to-coast tours will embark from Virginia Beach, Va. on May 10 and then continue up to October 21 in Orlando. "It's really exciting. The Hilton has given us an opportunity to play more than once a year," Kix Brooks said speaking on the two-year contract duo Brooks & Dunn has reached with the Las Vegas Hilton. "I'm really looking forward to a little more Las Vegas", he added.
In addition to their National Finals Rodeo performance Dec. 4-6, Brooks said he and Ronnie Dunn would perform at the Hilton hotel-casino in March and July next year before then return for the rodeo in December 2007.

"We've thrown around the concept of opening for the Stones forever," singer Ronnie Dunn commented about their being tapped to warm up The Rolling Stones tour.
Amazed upon getting the invitation from their manager, the duo immediately "started calling our friends as fast as we could as soon as we walked out of the room," Ronnie added. See you there friends.
Music Acts Tapped to Perform on the Stones Tour

The tapping of the music performers has been confirmed by the Stones publicist on Thursday, adding that country veteran Merle Haggard, New Orleans funk veterans The Meters, and all-girl rock group Antigone Rising also will perform.
