New “Sweet Friggin' Daisies” and “Abandon” to round up 2002, she hadn't scored another strike on big screen. Instead, her appearance as Zelda in “Sweet Friggin' Daisies” was claimed to be extra weird despite her sweet and sexy look. She eventually made a come back on TV series by being the flirty cousin of Roz Doyle in “Frasier” (1993). Her short-lived character there indeed brought a fresh humor to the series itself. Once again Zooey stole the spotlight. Then she realized that she was in position to take more challenging roles.

In “All the Real Girls” (2003), Zooey's acting was on fire as she depicted a virgin returning hometown only to fall in love with a womanizer.
