The full list of nominations for the 2017 Billboard Music Awards has been announced. Drake and The Chainsmokers lead the pack of nominees with a whopping 22 nods apiece, Twenty One Pilots follows with 17 nominations, while Rihanna trails behind with 14.
Drake, The Chainsmokers, Twenty One Pilots and Rihanna are all vying for the Top Artist title. They are competing against Adele, Beyonce Knowles, Ariana Grande, Shawn Mendes and The Weeknd. The electronic DJ duo has taken to Twitter to express their excitement, writing, "Holy what!? Just found out we got 22 @bbmas nominations!!!! Really grateful guys thank you!"
In Top New Artist category, Alessia Cara is battling fellow newbies like Desiigner, Lil Uzi Vert, Lukas Graham and Zayn Malik. Desiigner is also nominated in several categories including Top Rap Song and Top Streaming Song (Video) for his breakthrough single "Panda".
The winners will be handed the awards in a live ceremony on May 21. Ludacris will return to host the annual award-giving event, which will be held at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Musical guests and presenters are expected to be announced in the coming weeks. See the full nominees here.
