BET Awards is not the only prize-giving event which announced nominations this week as Canadian MuchMusic Video Awards has also uncovered musicians vying for its coveted trophies. receives seven nominations, while makes his entrance onto the list with four nods.
The 23-year-old rapper and the 16-year-old pop singer will compete against each other in UR FAVE New Artist, UR FAVE Video and International Video of the Year by a Canadian. In the latest category, both of them get double nominations. Drake is listed for "Over" and star-studded "Forever", while Justin is on the battle for "One Time" and "Baby". The two are joined by 's "Alice (Underground)".
Drake gets his three other nods in International Video of the Year - Group, MuchVIBE Hip-Hop Video of the Year and Cinematography of the Year. Also I just realised Justin's video for 'Baby' has been viewed over 150million times on YouTube, which is a record! So if he doesnt take home an award, clearly they are not handing out the MMVAS based on facts. Just because he is young, does not mean you can deny him the right of the award, becasue the production and visual on 'Baby' was just stunning!
Both brilliant all round entertainers in their own right. Hopefully Justin will be able to take home some awards over Drake this time, because Drake already had his night at the Juno Awards. Although they both have had an incredible, so I would'nt really mind who took home which award.
