Canadian very own MuchMusic Video Awards has revealed the names included as this year's nominees. Favorite artists ranging from the Canadian natives like k-os and City and Colour will compete with more globally successful artists such as Nelly Furtado and Avril Lavigne.
Artists are nominated in 4 separate categories that boast both Canadian and international set. Canadian favorite artists can be chosen among the selection of Lavigne, Furtado, George, City and Colour, and k-os while the international one will be selected among Akon, Stacy Ferguson aka Fergie, Gwen Stefani, Hilary Duff and Justin Timberlake.
Early Performers for the 2007 JUNO Awards Have Been Announced

The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences and CTV, organizers of Canada's biggest music awards show Juno, revealed Tuesday Jan 30th the early performers to perform at the event. Canadian rockers Billy Talent and Three Days Grace have both been named to the 2007 Juno performance lineup.
The music awards show, which is slated to take place April 1 at the Credit Union Centre, will be hosted by Nelly Furtado. More performers to rock the Junos will be announced next Monday February 5th.

Canadian rockers Nickelback lead the pack in the awards season. The music act leads the 2006 Billboard Music Awards with five nominations all at once, mainly for the categories of Artist of the Year, Duo/Group of the Year, Album of the Year and Rock Album of the Year both for "All the Right Reasons", plus Rock Artist of the Year.
Also leads the awards show with five nominations is Mary J. Blige who vies for Female Artist of the Year, R&B/Hip-Hop Artist of the Year, Female R&B/Hip-Hop Artist of the Year, R&B/Hip-Hop Album of the Year for "The Breakthrough", and R&B/Hip-Hop Single of the Year for "Be Without You". Rapper T.I. is another leading nominee, scores nods for R&B/Hip-Hop Artist of the Year, Male R&B/Hip-Hop Artist of the Year, R&B/Hip-Hop Album of the Year plus Rap Album of the Year both for "King", and Rap Artist of the Year.
Seether Cancels August Tour Dates as Frontman Enters Rehab

South African rock band Seether has to, unfortunately, cancel their August tour dates following frontman Shaun Morgan's decision to check himself into a rehabilitation clinic for treatment of substance abuse.
Hence, Morgan's treatment has forced the band to cancel its August touring plans and following scheduled appearances this week, all future plans have been placed on hold until further notice.

Rap star Busta Rhymes catapulted onto the top position of the US pop album charts on Wednesday June 21st, 2006 with his first No. 1 release, "The Big Bang". The star's collection, include such hit singles as "I Love My Chick" and "I Love My Bitch", debuted with 209,000 U.S. copies sold for the week ended June 18, according to Nielsen SoundScan. On top of that, "The Big Bang" also shot straight to No. 1 on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and Top Rap Albums tallies.
In the meantime, country trio the Dixie Chicks held steady at No. 2 with their "Taking the Long Way" sold another 130,000 copies, while remained at the top of the country albums chart for a fourth week. As for last week's best-seller, AFI's "Decemberunderground", it slipped two to No. 3 sold 104,000 copies. The other charts holdovers are "High School Musical" soundtrack at No. 4 on sales of 79,000 copies, "One X" by Three Days Grace which sold 78,000 to easily land at No. 5 on the charts.
