Kanye West Confirmed to Sing at Democratic Party Convention

The upcoming Democratic party convention, to be held on August 25, looks set to turn into a star studded party. After previously Usher reportedly will be singing at the event, the latest news said that Kanye West will also perform at the convention. Unlike the "Love in this Club" singer who is still in negotiation, reports said that Kanye has already been confirmed as one of the performers at the political convention.

Beside the "Gold Digger" rapper, other musicians that have also been confirmed to join him and perform at the event are N.E.R.D and Wyclef Jean. Beside those performers, the convention held to support Barack Obama's upcoming presidential campaign, will also feature the arrival of Hollywood celebrities, such as Scarlett Johansson, Ben Affleck, Forest Whitaker, Edward Norton and many more.

Being outspoken and true to his nature, Kanye West has been strongly advised by his management team to take anger management classes. Made an appearance at the French fashion house's spring 2009 show in Paris last week, the hip hop artist revealed to Women's Wear Daily (WWD) that he has teamed up with luxury fashion brand Louis Vuitton to help design a collection of men's shoes for the label. He, moreover, also said that he currently is working on signature line of women's wear that's set to debut this coming fall.

Following the latest reports about Amy Winehouse diss on Kanye West at the Glastonbury Festival, one of the festival's headliners Jay-Z has offered a solution for the two musicians. Speaking to MTV Base, Jay stated that he doesn't agree with Amy's saying and plans to hook them up so there won't be any feud between them.

Shouting out his defense on Kanye, Jay-Z said, "She said something about Kanye late on [in her set] but I didn't hear it. I don't agree with it. He's my brother and the biggest artist on Roc-A-Fella right now." He then said about his peace solution for them saying, "I guess I should hook them up, because he's a great guy, too. Kanye West Blames Organizers Over Bonnaroo Troubles

Following recent reports about his troubled gig at the Bonnaroo Festival on June 15 , Kanye West has finally shouted out his feeling about the booing and reasons for the late appearance. Writing on his official blog page, the rapper said that what happened at the Bonnaroo gig was the biggest insult for him. "This Bonnaroo thing is the worst insult I've ever had in my life. This is the most offended I've ever been... this is the maddest I ever will be," Kanye wrote.

As previously reported, Kanye got booed by the crowd and also having his stage filled with thrown objects just before he started his concert. The incident happened because the rapper was appearing two hours late from his scheduled time. Shortly after the incident, the organizers told the press that the "Gold Digger" rapper's late arrival was caused by his over elaborated stage set that took too long to load in.

The full winners for the 2008 BET Awards music category have finally been announced on June 24. Among the winners for the category, Kanye West and UGK get home with the most as both artists grab two awards.

Kanye West has decided to shout out his statement regarding recent feud between Soulja Boy and Ice-T. On his official blog page, Kanye wrote that despite he has nothing against Ice he fully backs and supports Soulja.

Having just finished performing at the Bonnaroo Festival on Sunday, June 15, Kanye West is set to perform at another major concert. The rapper has been tapped to perform at the post race concert of the biggest one-day running event, Nike+Human Race.

Kanye West has just released a surprising statement to his fans regarding the recent two new clips for his "Flashing Lights" that have been streaming on the net. Kanye stated on his official blog entry that the recent videos, leaking on the net were not officially released by him.

The rapper also wrote that he did shot the two videos, but since he didn't like them he made another one and picked the last one as the official clip for "Flashing Lights". "I shot 3 vids for flashing lights cuz I ain't like the first 2. I loved the 3rd one that I released with Spike and hit the world with that," Kanye said.

The third part of Kanye West's music video for his single "Flashing Lights" has just been premiered on May 29. The new clip, which is planned to be the final video for the single, is directed by Martin de Thurah.

The clip, which employs scenes of a dinner in an eerie mansion, presents Kanye chasing a woman whom he got curious at. One of the frames where the woman was running in the middle of the street has been unveiled in a still that Kanye posted on his blog before the first video was premiered.

A new music video from Kanye West has just been premiered, although it is still not confirmed as an official one. The clip is the second part of Kanye's single "Flashing Lights". The first part of the video itself has been outed on February 10.

After having trouble over his recent gig for the "Glow In The Dark Tour", Kanye West has to face another one. This time Kanye is facing a lawsuit made by Kathleen Firrantello, the daughter of late jazz musician Joe Farrell, who accused him of using her father's music without an approval.

Kathleen didn't only file the suit against Kanye, but she also charged other musicians Method Man, Redman, Common and also those artists' recording companies, Def Jam Music Group and its label Roc-A-Fella Records, Universal Music Group with its labels Interscope Records, Geffen Records and A&M Records and Vivendi. The suit naming those artists and labels was filed in the U.S. District Court in New York City, on Thursday 22.

Music reviewers are sometimes called by artists as their number one enemy and apparently it's also what Kanye West thinks. These can be seen by Kanye's rage on the review made by Entertainment Weekly (EW) regarding his 'Glow in the Dark' tour performances.

Apparently can never have too many on his career resume, Kanye West ventures into new business, launching a new online travel company through his official Website. The rap artist and hip hop producer named his travel company, "Kanye Travel Ventures" (KTV).

The company, owned by the rapper's West Brands, LLC, reportedly is formed to serve business and leisure travel demands for Kanye's fans. It offers fans the chance to purchase concert tickets for his performances along with "other performance-related merchandise and events".

Kanye West has premiered the music video of his latest single "Homecoming". The clip is particularly highly-anticipated due to the fact that Chris Martin of rock band Coldplay is featured in both the song and the black-and-white video.

Sued: Kanye West and His Vulgar 'Good Life'

Like many artists who made themselves successful worldwide, Kanye West is also taking in some impacts from it. The rapper is being sued by a Maryland producer named Dayna Staggs aka D'Mystro who claimed that West sampled his song "Volume of Good Life" for West's "Graduation" single "Good Life".

Staggs provided the paper evidence along with the lawsuit that was brought up on March 20, enclosing the music sheet for comparison between the two songs. Staggs, in the court papers stated that his "Volume of Good Life" was copyrighted in the '80s and was released under Pallas Records internationally soon after that. Furthermore, Staggs also claimed that he brought up the case in November 2007 by sending cease and desist letters to BMI, the company that represents Roc-A-Fella Records and Def Jam where West released his album under, but received no favorable reply.

The sexy woman who 'chop up' Kanye West in his latest video clip "Flashing Lights" has revealed her identity and spoken her view about the project. The woman whose name is Rita G. has graced the Playboy magazine and has enjoyed a fame increase since the clip's debut.

The extensive dates of Kanye West's Glow in the Dark Tour has been unveiled. As previously reported, the jaunt will start April 16 in Seattle and wind down May 30 in Calgary but more dates are slipped in between, totaling in 33 scheduled performances and including stops in Las Vegas, West Palm Beach and Saskatoon.

Kanye West, as the biggest nominee at the 50th Grammy Awards, brought home the fourth winning through his latest effort "Graduation". The album was named Best Rap Album and is still waiting whether it will also come out as the winner of Album of the Year.

"We basically made this our new place of residence," West said of his win. He also earlier went up the podium to get his statuettes after winning Best Rap Solo Performance for "Stronger" and Best Rap Song for "Good Life" which are both taken from "Graduation". He also shares a nod with Common on the track "Southside" that is named Best Rap Performance By A Duo Or Group.

Kanye West's 'Flashing Light' Video Done for BET Premiere

Kanye West announced that his video for "Flashing Light", the fourth single from "Graduation", is done and will be premiered on BET. He also posted a frame from the video on his blog, KanyeUniverseCity.com, showing a car on the go.

No news yet on the date of the video premiere but reports speculated that it may come as soon as this coming Monday (February 11). Earlier in January, the rapper had also posted another frame from the video that shows a woman running in a dark street.

Kanye West has released several hints on his official blog, KanyeUniverseCity.com regarding his upcoming tour to support his multi platinum album, 'Graduation'. Presented in slashed pictures are the details on who will support him and the name of the tour.

Consequence, known best as Kanye West's frequent collaborator and his work on A Tribe Called Quest's 'Beats, Rhymes and Life', has premiered a black and white music video of his single 'The Good, The Bad, The Ugly.

The song is featuring West again and first included in West's mixtape 'Freshman Adjustment' that was released in 2005 before than made into Consequence's 2007 debut album, 'Don't Quit You Day Job!'.

Coroner's Report: Donda West, Kanye West's Mother, Died of Coronary Artery Disease

The toxicology reports on the death of Kanye West's mother, Donda West, had been completed. It was ruled that she died of "coronary artery disease and multiple post-operative factors due to or as a consequence of liposuction and mammoplasty."

In the report they issued Thursday, January 10, the Los Angeles County Coroner however said that an autopsy failed to determine the exact role those factors; coronary artery disease and multiple post-operative factors, played in Donda's sudden death last November following liposuction and breast-reduction surgery.

Preliminary Information Suggested Kanye West's Mom Died of Surgical Complications

Donda West's death was a sudden and still remains mystery until now. Following her shocking death on Saturday night November 10th, speculations are mounting on what might cause it. The Smashing Pumpkins, Kanye West Headlining Bang!

The biggest acts representing two music genres are going to headline this year's Bang! Music Festival. Kanye West and The Smashing Pumpkins are on to rock the stage placed at Miami's Bayfront Park Amphitheater.

Rap is not the only field Jay-Z good at. He, instead, is proven good in cashing in his popularity by venturing into various businesses, from executive worlds of music, fashion, sport, to club. Recognized as one of the most financially successful American hip-hop artists, it is not surprising then to see his name written on the No. 1 spot of Forbes magazine's "Hip-Hop Cash Kings" list.

Earned an estimated $34 million by last year, Jay-Z besting fellow music mogul 50 Cent who comes at 2nd spot with a reported income of $32 million from his music and businesses, such as a record label, video games and a line of books. Rapper, record producer, and clothing designer P. Diddy is ranked 3rd on the list, just one place ahead of Timbaland who is at No. 4, taking in $21 million by 2006.

Lupe, Kanye and Pharrell Planning a CRS Studio Album

Lupe Fiasco hinted that his supergroup CRS (Child Rebel Soldiers) with Kanye West and Pharrell Williams may release more than just an online mixtape. The rapper revealed the intention on working on a studio album but the challenge is to find a time among the super-busy solo artists.

"Now [our labels are] working it out," Lupe said as quoted on Billboard.com. "Whoever is going to pay is going to pay a whole hell of a lot. Everybody is excited, [but] 'Us Placers' is the only record we have." 'Us Placers' is a track by CRS that appears both online and on a mixtape by West titled 'Can't Tell Me Nothing: The Official Mixtape'. The group performed the tune in recent Lollapalooza Fest.

50 Cent to Outsell Kanye West or Quit

50 Cent believes that his upcoming record will beat Kanye West's in terms of numbers and he's willing to put his solo music career at stake. 'Curtis' is either to take over West's 'Graduation' or else it will be the second last album he wrote for himself.

The rapper insists on keeping the date of his album release (September 11) which in coincidence is also West's. The chart battle went on with an offer to debate on national television and now to put a bet on it.

The full tracklisting and cover art of Kanye West's highly-anticipated album 'Graduation' have been exposed. The September 11 album went details on U.S. iTunes where its pre-order is readily available.

The album cover presents the cartoon head of a brown bear sporting West's signature white sunglasses on a blue background. The 15 tracks, as promised feature big collaboration from Mos Def, Coldplay's Chris Martin, Lupe Fiasco, T-Pain and Pharrell Williams.

2007 MTV Video Music Awards nominees are in. On the terms of most count, the list has Justin Timberlake and Beyonce Knowles who both own seven nods each while on the terms of today's big buzz, Rihanna and Amy Winehouse came quite unsurprising.

Although having a great chance to bring home a statuette this year, Timberlake and Knowles are facing tough competition this year mainly on the highest nomination in the award. Video of the Year put Timberlake's 'What Goes Around..." and Knowles' 'Irreplaceable' on the same level to Kanye West's 'Stronger', Rihanna's 'Umbrella', Winehouse's 'Rehab' and unexpectedly, French electronic duo Justice's 'D.A.N.C.E.'

Good Life, Kanye West's Third Single Off Graduation

On the heels of 'Stronger', Kanye West is having 'Good Life' as the third single off studio album 'Graduation'. The singer performed the full version of the song for the first time in an event to honor music mogul Quincy Jones on July 28.

'Good Life' is a mid-tempo featuring T-Pain. Part of it samples on Michael Jackson's 1983 hit 'P.Y.T (Pretty Young Thing)'. The song was actually premiered live during a concert in Manchester, England on July 2 but only to a portion of it. A video is now prepared to be released but no official date has been announced yet.
