June 22, 2009 11:06:57Winners for this year's MuchMusic Video Awards have been announced at a gala ceremony taking place on June 21, and Nickelback walked home with the most kudos. This Canadian rock band received three awards.
Nickelback got Post Production of the Year and MuchLOUD Rock Video of the Year for their "Gotta Be Somebody" video. Moreover, they bagged the top prize, Video of the Year, winning over Danny Fernandes, k-os, Marianas Trench and The Stills.

With a chart-topping album coming out few months before 2007 MuchMusic Awards, Avril Lavigne became an expected winner in the event. Her winning of two categories however, is toned down with a bigger number from Billy Talent.
The rock band snatched three trophies mainly for their video "Fallen Leaves". Both Best Video and MuchLOUD Best Rock Video were taken home along with obviously, people choice's of Favorite Canadian Group.

After nominated in the People's choice, the same bands Billy Talent and Nickelback stand greater chance bringing home 'statuette' in this year's MuchMusic Awards after nominated for their works.
Leading with five nominations each, Talent and Nickelback are competing with each other in Top Group, Best Video and Best Rock Video. Talent is up for its "Fallen Leaves" video while Nickelback is nominated through "If Everyone Cared". Their remaining nominations are different to each other. Talent is on the list of Best Director and Best Cinematography while Nickelback is under the MuchMoreMusic Award and Best International Video by a Canadian.

Canadian very own MuchMusic Video Awards has revealed the names included as this year's nominees. Favorite artists ranging from the Canadian natives like k-os and City and Colour will compete with more globally successful artists such as Nelly Furtado and Avril Lavigne.
Artists are nominated in 4 separate categories that boast both Canadian and international set. Canadian favorite artists can be chosen among the selection of Lavigne, Furtado, George, City and Colour, and k-os while the international one will be selected among Akon, Stacy Ferguson aka Fergie, Gwen Stefani, Hilary Duff and Justin Timberlake.

2007 Juno Awards is all about Nelly Furtado. The 28 years old singer swept as many as five nominations apart from her frequent appearance on stage as the host of the show. In the Canadian version of Grammy, Nelly snatched the spotlight when first taking the stage and introduced herself as the host. She then gradually grabbed the 5 trophies that forced her to prepare 5 different sets of acceptance speech.
As an artist, she won Dorito's Juno Fans Choice Award and Artist of the Year. Her album "Loose" shone for two things, Pop Album of the Year and simply Album of the Year while her single featuring Timbaland titled "Promiscuous" was awarded Single of the Year.

This year Juno Awards, the Canada's version of the Grammys, sees the likes of Nelly Furtado, Billy Talent, and hip-hop artist k-os all vie for multiple nominations. Pop singer Nelly, who's been tapped to host the event on April 1st from Saskatoon, is nominated for the categories of Single of the Year for "Promiscuous", Juno Fan Choice, Album of the Year and Pop Album of the Year both for "Loose", and Artist of the Year.
Rock band Billy Talent, in the meantime, scores the nominations for Single of the Year and Video of the Year for "Devil In A Midnight Mass", Album of the Year and Rock Album of the Year both for "Billy Talent II", and Group of the Year. As of hip-hop artist k-os, he earns the nominations for Single of the Year for "Sunday Morning", Songwriter of the Year, Pop Album of the Year for "Atlantis: Hymns For Disco", Jack Richardson Producer of the Year, and Video of the Year.
Early Performers for the 2007 JUNO Awards Have Been Announced

The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences and CTV, organizers of Canada's biggest music awards show Juno, revealed Tuesday Jan 30th the early performers to perform at the event. Canadian rockers Billy Talent and Three Days Grace have both been named to the 2007 Juno performance lineup.
The music awards show, which is slated to take place April 1 at the Credit Union Centre, will be hosted by Nelly Furtado. More performers to rock the Junos will be announced next Monday February 5th.
