AceShowbiz - Teens' choices for the most favorite celebrities in fashion, sports and comedy fields have just been revealed in the first wave of 2013 Teen Choice Awards. Miley Cyrus receives one nomination, while One Direction's heartthrob Harry Styles collects two coveted nods.
Cyrus, though not landing any nod in music because her work was still in the progress during the past 12 months, manages to be a contender for Choice Female Hottie. She is facing off such beauties as Megan Fox, Selena Gomez, Mila Kunis and Demi Lovato.
Styles is up for Choice Male Hottie and Choice Smile. He has to beat Justin Bieber, Liam Hemsworth, Taylor Lautner and Channing Tatum to win the former category. He battles Lautner once again in the latter, aside from facing off Gomez, Lovato and his ex Taylor Swift.
Besides, the British boybander gets nominated for Choice Music Group with his band, scoring a total of three nods. He and bandmates Zayn Malik, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne are going head to head with Fun., Maroon 5, The Wanted and Big Time Rush.
Choice Female Athlete lists Gabrielle Douglas, Missy Franklin, Alex Morgan, Danica Patrick, Lindsey Vonn and Serena Williams as contenders. Choice Male Athlete, meanwhile, will be a tight battle among David Beckham, LeBron James, Colin Kaepernick, Michael Phelps and Shaun White.
The funnies Hollywood celebrities like Ellen DeGeneres, Jimmy Fallon, Melissa McCarthy, Daniel Tosh and Rebel Wilson are pitted against one another in Choice Comedian.
Continuing its tradition to honor the teens' favorites in TV, movie, music and other pop culture categories, the TCAs is set to air live Sunday night, August 11 on FOX. Fans ages 13-19 can start to vote once each day per category for their favorite on TCAs official website. Host(s), performers, presenters and additional nominees will be announced soon.
