"Twilight" continues its domination at the 2009 MTV Movie Awards. Having collected the most counts at the awards' nominations with seven nods, the romantic vampire drama has scored the most kudos at the gala ceremony held on Sunday, May 31. It landed five out of the seven nominations and scored the top honor, the Best Movie title.
Securing the Best Movie kudo, "Twilight" threw off strong competitors, "The Dark Knight", "High School Musical 3: Senior Year", "Iron Man" and "Slumdog Millionaire". Aside from winning Best Movie, the Catherine Hardwicke-directed movie also hauled in kudos for Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson. Each of them was hailed Best Female Performance and Breakthrough Performance Male respectively. The two leading actors also shared the Best Kiss prize.
Meanwhile, Pattinson who nailed the Breakthrough title over co-star Taylor Lautner also grabbed another golden statuette for Best Fight, which he shared with Cam Gigandet. "Twilight" missed out on the Best Song category since Miley Cyrus' "The Climb" was chosen to be the favorite over Paramore's "Decode".
Other winners include "High School Musical 3", "Yes Man", "The Dark Knight" and "Baby Mama". "High School Musical 3" brought home two kudos for Best Male Performance and Breakthrough Performance Female, while the others took in one each. "Yes Man" gave Jim Carrey a Best Comedic Performance win, "The Dark Knight" won Best Villain for Heath Ledger and "Baby Mama" earned Amy Poehler her Best WTF Moment.
The 2009 MTV Movie Awards was aired live from the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California starting at 9 P.M. ET on Sunday, May 31. Hosted by Saturday Night Live" star Andy Samberg, it saw musical performances from Kings of Leon and Eminem. Presenters of the night were Chris Pine, Sacha Baron Cohen, Kiefer Sutherland, LeAnn Rimes and Anna Faris among others.

Guys, chillax, its the "MTV Movie awards", its just there to bring some of the stars out and have some fun. Like "kisskissbangbang" said, Slumdog won an Oscar (actually it won like 8)so did Dark Knight, so did Kate Winslet for The Reader. Not only did Twilight not win an Oscar, it wasn't even nominated. So let the Tweens have their night. Don't take it so serious. Anytime they're presenting an award and there's a guy on stage wearing a spandex suit and a bucket of popcorn on his head you know it's just fun. BTW, great performance by KOL and much props to Ben Stiller.
