Jay-Z gave his superstar wife Beyonce Knowles a birthday to remember on Saturday, September 4 when he hired a plush New York restaurant and filled it with flowers and celebrity pals. The "Crazy in Love" hitmaker turned 29 on Saturday and was treated to a lavish bash at the soon-to-be launched Big Apple restaurant The Darby, where Alicia Keys, Serena Williams, Kanye West and Sean 'P. Diddy' Combs turned out to help the star celebrate.
And the "99 Problems" hitmaker ensured the party was a fragrant affair - he filled the venue with white orchids, according to New York Post gossip column PageSix.
Previously, Lady GaGa treated Beyonce Knowles to a cracking surprise by presenting her "Telephone" collaborator with a diamond-studded whip and a matching lingerie set. GaGa also treated Beyonce to an a capella rendition of "Happy Birthday" backstage at Jay-Z's concert with Eminem in Detroit, Michigan last week.
