Defying elaborate stage act, the female judge of the 'X Factor' U.S. version sticks to what she is good at, belting out lyrics in her powerful voice.

AceShowbiz - Nicole Scherzinger was one of the performers on the result show night of "The X Factor (US)" semifinals. Decked out in black outfit, the former frontwoman of The Pussycat Dolls showcased her new single called "Pretty". Wearing her long brunette locks in a high ponytail, she delivered the song in a simple set which focused on her belting out lyrics in powerful voice.

The other musical guest on the December 15 episode was British band Florence and the Machine. Led by Florence Welch, the "No Light, No Light" performers catered the audience with a live debut of their song "Spectrum" which is taken from their second studio album "Ceremonials". They were accompanied by a number of dancers.

The talent show that Thursday night was closed with the announcement of who made it to the finals and who had to go home. Chris Rene, Melanie Amaro and Josh Krajcik were advanced to the next round, leaving Marcus Canty who was mentored by L.A. Reid to end his journey on the U.S. version of "The X Factor".
