AceShowbiz - The nominees for the 48th NAACP Image Awards were announced Tuesday, December 13. Beyonce Knowles, Solange Knowles, Chance the Rapper, Alicia Keys, Bruno Mars and Kendrick Lamar are among the nominees in music category.
Overall, Queen Bey leads with seven nominations, including Entertainer of the Year, where she's pitted against Viola Davis, Regina King, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Chance the Rapper. She is also nominated for Outstanding Female Artist, Outstanding Song (Contemporary) and Outstanding Music Video.
Beyonce's sister Solange closely follows behind with five nods, including Outstanding Female Artist and Outstanding Album. Meanwhile, Kendrick and Chance pick up four nominations each.
Elsewhere on the list, Bruno is up for three nominations, including Outstanding Male Artist, where he's pitted against Chance, Kendrick, Anthony Hamilton and Maxwell. Meanwhile, Alicia is nominated for the Outstanding Female Artist title along with Beyonce, Solange, Fantasia Barrino and K. Michelle.
The NAACP Image Awards recognize achievements by people of color in TV, music, literature and film, and honor individuals or groups who promote social justice through creative endeavors. Hosted by Anthony Anderson, the two-hour show will be broadcast live on TV One on Saturday, February 11 at 9 P.M. ET/PT.
