Hulu is developing "Foxy Brown" TV series based on a 1974 film of the same title. Meagan Good ("Minority Report", "Deception", "Code Black") has signed on to star in the adaptation.

The original film, which was penned and directed by Jack Hill, focused on a woman played by Pam Grier who sought revenge on drug dealers who murdered her boyfriend. Good will play a modern version of Grier's character, Deadline has reported.

The character has become a cultural icon, inspiring a movie by Quentin Tarantino called "Jackie Brown" which also starred Grier, as well as one of the characters in "Austin Powers in Goldmember" named Foxxy Cleopatra, which was portrayed by Beyonce Knowles.

The adaptation, which hails from studio MGM Television, is executive produced by Good alongside her husband Devon Franklin, Tony Krantz, Jason Weinberg and Evan Hainey. "Empire" producer Malcolm Spellman and "Hand of God" creator Ben Watkins will pen the script and serve as co-showrunners with Drew Comins serving as co-executive producer.
