The Alan Turing biopic dominates with four wins, the adaptation of Gillian Flynn's novel follows with three, while 'Birdman' and 'Guardians of the Galaxy' get two each.

AceShowbiz - The winners at the 18th annual Hollywood Film Awards were announced in a telecast hosted by Queen Latifah at the Hollywood Paladium on Friday night, November 14 in Los Angeles. Alan Turing biopic "The Imitation Game" and David Fincher's adaptation of Gillian Flynn's novel "Gone Girl" won big at the event.
"Imitation Game" led the pack with four wins. The leading star Benedict Cumberbatch won the best actor prize, and his female co-star Keira Knightley took home the best supporting actress title. Meanwhile, Morten Tyldum and Alexandre Desplat grabbed the Director and Composer Awards respectively.
"Gone Girl" which is led by Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike followed "Imitation Game" domination with three nods including the coveted film gong. Additionally, the book' author Flynn who wrote the movie's script was feted with the screenwriter prize and Ren Klyce was handed the Sound Award.
Affleck was on hand to accept the top prize. "If you're gonna have one chance for America to see your junk, you want it to be cold," the actor quipped during his speech, referring to a steamy scene in the film which required him to take off his clothes.
Other feature films which got multiple nods were superhero satire "Birdman" for Career Achievement Award (Michael Keaton) and Cinematography Award (Emmanuel Lubezki) as well as comic book flick "Guardians of the Galaxy" for Blockbuster Award and Make-Up and Hairstyling Award.
"Grateful, thankful...humbled...Thank you very very much," Keaton said. "This means an awful lot to me..." He additionally cracked a joke, "Normally when they give this type of award to someone, it's because that person is usually dead and I'm not -- and I'm going to keep on going for a long time."
The best actress went to Julianne Moore for her role as a woman with Alzheimer's disease in "Still Alice", the breakout actress to Shailene Woodley ("The Fault in Our Stars"), the breakout actor to Eddie Redmayne ("The Theory of Everything"), and the New Hollywood to Jack O'Connell ("Unbroken").
O'Connell dedicated his win to "the man himself, Mr. Louis Zamperin." He also thanked the director, making sure to acknowledge her new honorary dame title. "Angelina, my esteemed boss, and good friend, her ladyship," he said while doing an exaggerated bow. "[Through] whose unconditional support and dedicated leadership I was capable of portraying our hero under her captaincy. So, Angelina, thank you."
"Foxcatcher" cast members Steve Carell and Channing Tatum were among the attendees at the event to accept a trophy for the best ensemble, while their co-star Mark Ruffalo was a no-show. "Mark Ruffalo couldn't be here tonight because he's not a good member of the ensemble," Carell poked fun at his absent castmate.
Also drawing laugh from the crowd was Jennifer Lopez who flubbed the movie title when announcing the best animation winner. Instead of saying "How to Train Your Dragon", she mistakenly said "How to Drain Your Dragon". The voice cast member Gerard Butler teased the blushing presenter during his acceptance speech.
This year's ceremony was broadcast on CBS, marking the first-ever telecast for the event. "I know what all of you at home are thinking -- did I miss the first 17...?" joked the host at the beginning of the show. Some winners were announced during the telecast, and some others were unveiled off camera.
