Brad Pitt Conducts "Green" Designs Contest

Acting is very close related to Hollywood hunk Brad Pitt. He can do and be anything on screen. But can he, in real life, rebuild New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina? It sounds impossible for the actor to do it alone and upon realizing his limitation he then brings into life his willingness to rebuild the city by conducting "green" designs contest.

Pitt announced Thursday April 20th, 2006 that he has teamed up with national environmental group Global Green USA, sponsoring the Sustainable Design Competition for New Orleans, a contest to find an Earth-friendly plan for housing and community centers in New Orleans.

Lance Armstrong Is Ready to Run

"I've been training some, but I wouldn't call it serious," Lance Armstrong told the Associated Press on Wednesday April 19th, 2006 speaking on his going to run in the Nov. 5 New York City Marathon, his first-ever marathon.

Also the seven times Tour de France champion added "It's just something to fill a void in my life after I quit competing as a professional cyclist."

Woods Taking Self-Imposed Break from the PGA Tour

The world's No.1 golf player Tiger Woods is taking a break from the PGA Tour, that's none other for he wants to spend more time with father Earl Woods who is battling cancer. Made the announcement Thursday April 20th, 2006 in New Zealand while he was attending the wedding of his caddie, the player added that he might not play in a golf tournament before the U.S. Open in June.

He said "It's kind of up in the air with the situation back home, so I don't know what's going to happen. I'm taking time off. I'm here for this event and for Steve, and to enjoy time off and be with my father, so I won't play for a while." Further he continued, "My father is hanging in there. The guy is an absolute fighter and walking miracle."

Judge Ordered Pete Doherty to Rehab

British rocker Pete Doherty has on Thursday April 20th, 2006 been ordered to attend an 18-month drug rehabilitation program and placed on two years' probation. The star, moreover, also is banned from driving for six months because of drug possession.

As for everybody to know, Pete had pleaded guilty last month to seven charges of possessing drugs including heroin, crack cocaine and marijuana, all of which was found by police when he was stopped once in December and once in January.

Jagger in Talks to Appear in ABC's Untitled Pilot

Singing isn't something new for Mick Jagger, but when it comes to acting it surely something challenging for him. The singer reportedly is in talks to star in ABC's untitled comedy pilot about a group of blue-collar guys in New York who decide to rob a celebrity.

There in the Rob Burnett and Jon Beckerman's project, Jagger will play the celebrity. He would appear in only a few scenes, and his name is not expected to be in the title of the project, sources said. Nevertheless, the role he played holds a crucial part in the project and thus is mentioned numerous times in the scenes.

Rumors on the street say that Naomi Watts and beau Liev Schreiber's relationship is on the rocks. In fact, in somewhat a very different report, it is said that the couple was spotted shopping for engagement rings in Los Angeles.

Though, there have yet certain details on that matter. As an insider at top store Antiquarius tells America's In Touch magazine, Watts and Shreiber were shopping for $400,000 rings earlier this month. Elsewhere, another source tells tabloid the Star the twosome bought an engagement ring from celebrity jeweler Neil Lane, which is an elegant cushion-cut, 5-carat diamond sparkler worth $150,000.

Michael Douglas Is to Receive An Honorary Degree

Hollywood film star Michael Douglas has been chosen to receive an honorary degree from Scotland's St. Andrews University.

The Oscar-winning actor is set to receive a Doctor of Laws degree in June for his outstanding contribution to British film, Brian Lang, the university's principal and vice-chancellor, said.

Britain's The Sun Apologizes to Teri Hatcher

Britain's best-selling newspaper The Sun apologized Wednesday to Teri Hatcher over a story that claimed she had sex with men in a van outside her home. The tabloid acknowledged the article, which it published last August, as "totally incorrect" and apologized to Hatcher "for the embarrassment caused."

Hatcher's legal firm, Schillings, mentioned the newspaper had agreed to pay undisclosed damages and the actress' legal cost. In related news, it is also reported that celebrity magazine Heat also had agreed to apologize for printing the same allegations in August.

Carey, Pepsi Cool Tones & Motorola Partnership

Grammy-winning singer Mariah Carey has teamed up with Pepsi to write and produce 20 original voice and music ringtones for a promotion by the soft-drink giant. The multiplatinum-selling singer, moreover, will also star in a national commercial promoting the Pepsi Cool Tones & Motorola Phones partnership as part of her endorsement deal.

Speaking on the partnership, Carey said "I had a lot of fun with this project. It was a great creative outlet because musically I could do things here that I would never think to do for one of my albums. This was a great idea by Pepsi, and I'm happy to be a part of it." As part of the deal, Carey in addition will kick off her summer tour with a Pepsi Smash concert at the Kodak Theater in Los Angeles.

Cynthia Watros Is Doing "My Ex-Life"

Actress Cynthia Watros is doing "My Ex-Life", replacing Gillian Vigman, who originally was cast in the CBS' comedy pilot.

Holmes & Cruise Welcome A Baby Girl Named Suri

It's a girl too for Katie Holmes and her soon-to-be husband Tom Cruise. At the same day fellow actress Brooke Shields gave birth to her second daughter on Tuesday April 18th, 2006, the Hollywood most-talked couple welcomed their first child, a baby girl, who they called Suri.

In a statement released by the couple's publicist it is explained that "Suri" means "princess" in Hebrew and "red rose" in Persian. As of the newly born, she weighed in at 7 pounds, 7 ounces, and was 20 inches long. Further the statement said that mother and daughter are "doing well."

Brooke Shields Gave Birth to Second Daughter

Colin & Nicole Legal Battle Over Sex Tape Settled

Both sides could finally take a sigh as they at last reached an amicable settlement. Colin Farrell and former girlfriend, Nicole Narain have both reached settlement in their legal battle over a sex tape they made together three years ago.

As apparent to public worldwide, Farrell once sued Narain, accusing her of trying to sell the tape to third party breaking their agreement to keep the tape for private viewing only. Thus, the actor then demanded general and compensatory damages, as well as the return of all copies of the tape to his possession.
