AceShowbiz - It's an interesting night at the 2018 MTV Video Music Awards, starting from the stars' arrivals. The celebrity guests coming to the Monday, August 20 show brought nontraditional looks to the red carpet with their futuristic and funky looks.
Take Ariana Grande for an example. The "No Tears Left to Cry" songstress looked like she came from an outer space with her space dancer skater dress and gray thigh-high boots. She showed some PDA with her fiance Pete Davidson, who opted for a casual outfit in a white sweatshirt, black pants and sneakers, while posing for photographers.
Cardi B showed her post-baby body in a custom velvet fuchsia dress by Nicolas Jebran featuring an asymmetrical thigh-high hemline and cleavage-baring neckline. She debuted her new pixie hairdo and completed her look with sandals in matching color.
Iggy Azalea oozed rocker style in a black dress with geometric print skirt, paired with leather boots. Shay Mitchell stunned in an orange-accented skirt suit with a very plunging neckline, while Karlie Kloss, Olivia Munn and Bebe Rexha stunned in their sparkly dresses.
Amber Rose turned up the heat in her Catwoman-inspired red latex bodysuit with fishnet stockings, matching boots and gloves. She also carried a red whip and wore a red mask to complete her look. Blac Chyna left very little to the imagination in her chain dress, while Rita Ora and Tiffany Haddish showed some skin in their sheer gowns.
Being the Vanguard Award honoree that night, Jennifer Lopez glammed up for the red carpet event. She chose a silver asymmetrical dress with matching high heels and clutch bag. Ashanti also wore a sparkly dress, Camila Cabello looked like a princess in a two-toned gown, and Winnie Harlow stunned in her sheer embroidered/beaded gown.
Teyana Taylor oozed a funky vibe in white crop top and super drop-crotch pants, revealing her rock hard abs and panties. Anna Kendrick looked chic in a short metallic dress with fringe, while Millie Bobby Brown opted for an all-black ensemble.
Noah Cyrus, who came with her boyfriend Lil Xan, wore a bronze bralette with matching oversized pants and white sneakers. Blake Lively's outfit was a unique combination of a fitted, crystal-embellished blazer, a crisp button-down shirt and billowing wide-leg trousers. Meanwhile, Maddie Ziegler looked funky in a metallic pink crop top and tight pants, paired with glittering pumps.
In the male department, most of them chose casual looks without suit, including Liam Payne, Kevin Hart, Migos' Quavo and Offset, Tyga and DJ Khaled. Shawn Mendes opted for a navy suit, while Frankie Grande defied the traditional red carpet style in a sparkly jacket and short pants. He also wore matching glittering sneakers.
