Jennifer Lawrence, Steve Irwin, Zoe Saldana and More to Receive Stars on Hollywood Walk of Fame


The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce has announced the honorees for next year's Hollywood Walk of Fame that also include Kirsten Dunst, Carrie Underwood, Snoop Dogg and Mary J. Blige.
The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce announced on Thursday, June 22 the list of actors, actress, musicians as well as television and radio personalities who would receive stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame next year.

The honorees in motion pictures category are Jennifer Lawrence, Zoe Saldana, Kirsten Dunst, Jack Black, Jeff Goldblum, F. Gary Gray, Mark Hamill, Gina Lollobrigida, Minnie Mouse and Nick Nolte.

The honorees in television category are Simon Cowell, Anthony Anderson, Gillian Anderson, Lynda Carter, RuPaul, Taraji P. Henson, Eric McCormack, Niecy Nash, Mandy Patinkin, Shonda Rhimes, Ryan Murphy and the late Steve Irwin.

Carrie Underwood, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, Richard Branson, Petula Clark, Harry Connick Jr., Ice-T and Weird Al Yankovic are the honorees in recording category. Meanwhile, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Charles Aznavour and the late Bernie Mac are the honorees in live theatre/live performance category. Rounding up the list is Steve Jones, who is the only honoree in radio category.

Celebrities took to social media to express their gratitude and joy. Kirsten posted on Instagram a screenshot of text messages between her and her mother. "Getting my star on the walk of fame!" Kirsten wrote in the message, to which her mother hilariously replied, "Omg I'm crying and at vons I'm so happy tell me more sat can we celebrate." Kirsten captioned the post, "My mom's always at Vons."

Bindi Irwin dedicated a long heartfelt message to her late father on Instagram. "I am beyond excited to share with you all that we have just received the news that Dad will be honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame," she wrote alongside an old photo of her and Steve. "Dad changed the world by reaching out to people through their television screens to bring them on the adventure of a lifetime. To have his name on a Hollywood Star means the world as we carry on his important work. #HollywoodWalkOfFame."



Taraji couldn't hide her surprise and posted a screenshot of the announcement on Instagram. She captioned the picture, "Didn't [see] this coming. A long way from that #DCDIRT #SoufEas. #DCSTANDTFUP Maaaaaannn #GODGETSALLOFTHEGLORY #GODIS you better KNOW THIS MAAAAAAAANNN."



Lastly, Al and Lin-Manuel revealed that they were hanging out together before finding out that both of them would be receiving stars. "The craziest part of all this was I WAS HAVING LUNCH WITH @alyankovic WHEN SOMEONE TOLD US WE'D BOTH BE GETTING STARS. FOR REAL," Lin-Manuel tweeted. Al wrote, "I was hanging out with THIS guy when we both found out. Coincidentally, he’s getting one this year too!!"
