BTS (Bangtan Boys) further solidifies their status as a global superstar. The seven-piece group became the first ever South Korean act to lead Billboard 200 chart thanks to the massive success of their latest album "Love Yourself: Tear".

Racking up 135,000 units in its first week, the effort was also the second K-Pop album to reach top 10, following their previous album "Love Yourself: Her". The latter debuted and peaked at No. 7 last year. The group made another history when lead track "Fake Love" opened at No. 10 on Billboard's Hot 100. It marked the first Hot top 10 ever for a K-Pop group.

Additionally, BTS became the first K-Pop act to hit No. 1 on Billboard Artist 100 chart. They also continued ruling the Social 50 chart after sharing selfies of them posing with the likes of John Legend, Backstreet Boys, The Chainsmokers, Tyra Banks and Taylor Swift.

Due to their recent achievements, South Korean President Moon Jae In even congratulated the boyband on their success. In a statement which was posted on Facebook, he said, "The names of each member Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM [Rap Monster], Jimin, V and Jungkook are going to be remembered for a long time. Thank you to BTS for spreading joy across Korea and the world with your great performances."

As if their chart accomplishments weren't enough, BTS was recently honored with Top Social Artist Award at the 2018 Billboard Music Awards. During the award-giving show, which was hosted by Kelly Clarkson, they debuted live performance of "Fake Love".

BTS is currently gearing up for a world tour in support of the album. The band will kick off the trek on August 25 in Seoul before traveling to major cities in North America and Europe. North American tickets went on sale to general public on May 5.
