Sophie Tweed-Simmons gets a pass to the next round as another female contestant dislikes her, while 13-year-old Trevor Moran almost passes out before taking the stage.

AceShowbiz - Gene Simmons and wife Shannon Tweed showed up in part 5 of "The X Factor (US)" season 2 auditions. The celebrity couple was present during the show's stop in San Francisco to support their daughter Sophie Tweed-Simmons, who was one of the singing hopefuls.

Sophie opened up about her hope to step out of her father's shadow, but her last name was quickly noticed by the judges. She sang Adele's "Make You Feel My Love" and got "yes" answers from Simon Cowell, Demi Lovato and Britney Spears. L.A. Reid, on the other hand, said, "I didn't quite get the chill bumps that I wanted to get from you."

Sophie wasn't the only one getting the highlight in the Wednesday, September 26 episode since Dinah Jane Hansen impressed the judges with her rendition of Beyonce Knowles' "If I Were a Boy". L.A. gushed, "You took that thing to places that even Beyonce didn't take it," and Demi said she got the chills when the 15-year-old contestant was singing. The Providence girl made it through to the next round.

Arin Ray, who was put in a group called Intensity in season 1, returned and tried to win it this time. She performed "Count on Me" and Simon commented, "Arin, I don't know what's happened to you in the last 12 months, but something definitely happened because you're a different person." She got a go from all four judges.

In Greensboro, Austin Corini showed he got the skills when singing "Wanted" by Hunter Hayes. Demi thought he's so cute and some other girls apparently agreed with her as they were seen supporting him from the audience seat. Despite saying Austin needed voice lessons, Simon followed the other judges' footsteps to give the contestant a "yes" answer.

Nick Youngerman and David Correy were other talents scouted in Greensboro. The former got Britney dancing to his rendition of "Ice, Ice Baby", while the latter won people's empathy when he opened up that he wished to reconnect with his birth mother through his voice. David sang Bruno Mars' "Amazing".

Back in San Fransisco, Tara Simon got a pass to the boot camp after singing David Guetta and Usher's "Without You" though Simon called her a "total and utter drama queen." Backstage, she didn't try to hide her feelings about Gene Simmons' daughter, making bad comments on the fellow contestant.

Daryl Black sang his own version of Gym Class Heroes' "Stereo Love" which sent him through to the next round. Meanwhile, Trevor Moran gave the crew a scare as he nearly passed out before being called for audition. His fate will be addressed in the next episode which will air Thursday.
