Oprah Winfrey leads Forbes magazine's list of the World's Most Influential Celebrities, with earnings of 260 million dollars from her vast media empire.

AceShowbiz - Taking into account the fact that she's rich, famous and generous, surely people will agree that Oprah Winfrey does deserve the top position on Forbes magazine's "100 Most Powerful Celebrities" annual list. The US talk show queen securing the top spot from Tom Cruise, with an estimated income of $260 million over the past 12 months. She last topped the list in 2005.

Cruise, the world's No. 1 star last year, has to unfortunately drop to No. 8 with his overall paycheck totaling a mere $31 million. That's a bad record for the actor. The 2nd slot on the list is filled by golf ace Tiger Woods who's raking in 100 million dollars this year, making a record an athlete has earned that much in a single year.

Madonna comes in at No. 3 thanks to her "Confessions" tour which is claimed as the highest-grossing tour by any female artists in history, and her adoption of a baby boy in the African country of Malawi that successfully put her back in the spotlight. Music group The Rolling Stones takes the 4th spot, slipping from No. 2 last year, taking in $88 million this year. Hollywood hunk Brad Pitt is at No. 5, securing $35 million in earnings.

Johnny Depp ranked 6th with an income of 92 million, followed thereafter by musician Elton John at No. 7, earning an estimated $53 million. Hip-hop mogul Jay-Z makes his debut on the list at No. 9 with earnings of 83 million dollars over the past year, while Hollywood director-producer Steven Spielberg finishing the Top 10 with an income of 110 million.
