The network wants to revive 'Must-See TV' brand on Thursday lineup as well as gives the family drama a special Christmas episode during its hiatus.

AceShowbiz - NBC is reviving its old "Must-See TV" brand on its Thursday lineup by moving its hit drama "This Is Us" from Tuesday to Thursday at 9 P.M. slot for the second season. Revealed on Sunday, May 14, NBC's fall schedule sees Mandy Moore-starring drama landing the coveted post-Super Bowl spot. In addition, the network is planning to order a special Christmas episode of "This Is Us" during its hiatus.

"Our hope is to create the return of 'Must-See TV' on Thursday," NBC Entertainment chairman Robert Greenblatt said in a conference call Sunday. According to the chairman, the moves on Thursday were designed to "strategically surround ['This Is Us'] with shows we think are very strong."

"We went back and forth about [moving 'This Is Us' to Thursday]. There's a case to be made for keeping the show where it was. While it's a little risky, there's a bigger case to be made about redoing Thursday night," he continued.
