Justin Timberlake was among performers at the 2015 Country Music Awards, which aired live from Nashville's Bridgestone Arena on Wednesday night, October 4. The singer joined Chris Stapleton for live renditions of George Jones' classic "Tennessee Whiskey" and his own "Drink You Away".

Both entertainers played their respective guitar alongside a band in the minimally-lit stage. The former song was lifted off Stapleton's debut album "Traveller", which won the Album of the Year Award at the event. The latter, meanwhile, appeared on Timberlake's "The 20/20 Experience - 2 of 2".

The former NSYNC member wasn't the only act who made unlikely appearance at what's been dubbed the biggest night in country music. Rocker John Mellencamp opened the festivity with Keith Urban, performing a duet of his 1983 classic "Pink Houses". Later in the night, Fall Out Boy took the stage with Thomas Rhett for the latter's "Crash and Burn" and the band's own "Uma Thurman".

Carrie Underwood and Miranda Lambert were among other performers highlighting the ceremony. The "American Idol" alum, who also co-hosted the ceremony with Brad Paisley, amazed viewers with her powerful vocals as she sang "Smoke Break" from her recently-released album, "Storyteller".

As for Lambert, she played her new single "Bathroom Sink". Looking casual in an all-black outfit topped with a denim jacket, the singer brought along a pink guitar that matched her pink hair. Her performance came shortly after ex-husband Blake Shelton treated the audience to his "Gonna".
