AceShowbiz - The nominees of the 2015 Saturn Awards were revealed on Tuesday, February 3. In movie field, "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" leads the pack with 11 nominations including Best Film Director, Best Film Editing, Best Film Production Design, Best Film Music and Best Film Special/Visual Effects.
For his work in the movie, Chris Evans who plays the titular character is up for Best Actor trophy against Tom Cruise ("Edge of Tomorrow"), Jake Gyllenhaal ("Nightcrawler"), Michael Keaton ("Birdman"), Matthew McConaughey ("Interstellar"), Chris Pratt ("Guardians of the Galaxy") and Dan Stevens ("The Guest").
Other "Captain America" stars Samuel L. Jackson and Anthony Mackie are battling against each other in Best Supporting Actor category while Scarlett Johansson eyes the Best Supporting Actress trophy.
Trailing behind the Marvel superhero movie is "Interstellar" which scores 11 nominations. In addition to Best Actor for McConaughey, the sci-fi flick is competing against other titles in various categories like Best Science Fiction Film, Best Actress for Anne Hathaway, Best Supporting Acress for Jessica Chastain and Best Film Director for Christopher Nolan.
Other films with multiple nominations are "Guardians of the Galaxy", "X-Men: Days of Future Past", "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes", "The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies" and "Into The Woods".
The nominations for the 2015 Saturn Awards were announced during a live boradcast from the Stream.tv studios in Hollywood. Winners in movie and TV categories will all be announced on June 25.
