The Canadian rockers rocketed to the top of the U.K. album chart and landed on the top spot with their album 'The Suburbs'.

Canadian rockers Arcade Fire have landed their first U.K. number one after their album "The Suburbs" rocketed to the top of the charts. The band dethroned rapper Eminem, whose hit album "Recovery" fell to second place, while U.K. singer Plan B held onto third with "The Defamation of Strickland Banks".

British pop star Eliza Doolittle's self-titled debut came fourth, while Sir Tom Jones latest offering, "Praise & Blame", rounded out the top five.

In the singles chart, Ne-Yo stormed to number one with "Beautiful Monster", his third U.K. chart-topper. Flo Rida's collaboration with David Guetta, "Club Can't Handle Me", climbed to second, while Yolanda Be Cool & DCUP's "We No Speak Americano" fell to number three. Eminem's "Love the Way You Lie" featuring Rihanna was at four and last week's top song, "All Time Low", by boyband The Wanted, tumbled to fifth place.
