More than 13,000 petitioners have rallied to make Fox sell 'Fantastic Four' movie rights back to Marvel following the reboot's poor performance.

AceShowbiz - More than 13,000 petitioners have rallied to bring back "The Fantastic Four" to Marvel following the poor performance of the newest Fox reboot. The petition is posted on Change.org along with headline, "Make Fox sell the rights to 'Fantastic Four' back to Marvel Studios."

The petition reads, "Josh Tank's Fantastic Four was a major disappointment. Critics and fans of the film panned the movie and performed poorly at the box office. Please sign this petition so we can have a great adaptation of Marvel's first family once and for all. Sign this petition also because WE DON'T WANT ANOTHER SEQUEL!!!!! Let the fans have what they want and MAKE FOX SELL THE RIGHTS BACK TO MARVEL!!!!"

A fan named George Hatcher comments, "I'm 44, been a marvel fan since I was 4. The Thing was one of my first and favorite Characters. He has constantly been ruined as have all the Characters of FF and Enemies. Fox wants to make money, then write your own superhero squad, call it the Fox Four or whatever! But we want our Fantastic Four movie to be just that FANTASTIC!" Philip Audenaert writes, "FOX doesn't know how to do The Fantastic Four and they only make movies to keep the rights to the franchise out of Marvel's hands."

"The Fantastic Four" reboot starring Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Michael B. Jordan and Jamie Bell opened to a disappointed $25.7 million from 3,995 theaters. It is one of the worst debuts for a big-budget superhero flick, earning even less than 2011's flop "The Green Hornet".

A sequel to the reboot, "The Fantastic Four 2", would reportedly be replaced by the second installment of "Deadpool" on June 9, 2017 following its weak opening.
