The director made it clear that there would be no footage, TV spot, or any section of the movie at the upcoming expo that will be held in Anaheim, California.

AceShowbiz - While waiting for the release of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens", fans have been craving more footage from the sci-fi blockbuster. Unfortunately, director J.J. Abrams confirmed that there wouldn't be any footage or behind-the-scenes video of the movie at Disney's D23 Expo that will be held in Anaheim, California on August 14 until 16.

"It is true, we are showing no footage, behind the scenes or otherwise. In the fall, there will be a trailer," the director said, promising a trailer later this year. Any revelation at "Worlds, Galaxies, and Universes: Live Action at The Walt Disney Studios" panel at the convention may not involve seeing sections of the movie, but fans can still expect new posters or stills at the expo. "We're thrilled to go to D23 and meet the fans, but it's a tricky thing to try and rush [footage] for a convention or preexisting event that would, of course, be fun to show something at," he added.

Abrams additionally revealed the progress of the post-production on the film. "I'm still editing and we're working on refining the cut, but it's incredibly fun to see the movie come together. You realize certain things that you don't need, certain things you can pull out," he explained.

Although the plot details are still kept under wraps, some characters from the franchise are confirmed to make appearance. A villainous group called The First Order is also confirmed to take part in the movie as a recently-released trailer from Korea gives a first look at the group.

Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Peter Mayhew and Anthony Daniels star in the movie which is slated for a release in North America on December 18.
