The superhero movie launched to $26.2 million, falling behind Tom Cruise's 'Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation' which added another $29.4 million in its second weekend.

AceShowbiz - Superhero team-up movie "The Fantastic Four" opened to a disappointed $25.7 million from 3,995 theaters, securing a second position at this weekend box office. The reboot, starring Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Michael B. Jordan and Jamie Bell, launched to $34.1 million from 43 international markets for a global bow of $59.8 million.
"Fantastic Four" is considerably one of the worst debuts for a big-budget superhero movie, earning even less than 2011 flop "The Green Hornet" ($33.5 million). "While we're disappointed, we remain committed to these characters and we have a lot to look forward to in our Marvel universe," said Fox domestic distribution chief Chris Aronson. "Fantastic Four" has been slammed by critics and got a C- CinemaScore.
On the first position was action thriller "Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation". The movie defeated "The Fantastic Four", adding another $28.5 million from 3,988 theaters for a domestic total of $107.8 million. "Rogue Nation" took in $65.5 million from 58 territories for a foreign cume of $156.7 million and global haul of $264.5 million.
Placing the third was "The Gift", Joel Edgerton's directorial debut. The movie launched to $11.9 million from 2,503 theaters. Coming behind "The Gift" was the raunchy comedy "Vacation" which earned another $9 million from 3,430 domestic theaters in its second week. Rounding out the top five was Paul Rudd's "Ant-Man" which garnered $7.9 million after four weeks in theaters.
