It was time for Hollie Cavanagh to go home on "American Idol" Thursday, May 10 night. After dodging eliminations for several times, the blonde singer was voted off on the latest results show. She sang Miley Cyrus' "The Climb" as her swan song, while her best friend Joshua Ledet was crying on the other side of the stage.
Phillip Phillips, who was the last one declared safe that night, will move on to the semifinals along with Joshua and Jessica Sanchez. They will be heading home for their hero's welcome this weekend, before returning to the stage on next Wednesday.
Before the eliminated singer was announced, the Top 4 performed "California Dreamin' ". Former winner David Cook catered the audience by singing "The Last Song I'll Write for You", while judge Jennifer Lopez performed "Dance Again".
In another news, Phillip has revealed that he will undergo surgery after the finale for his kidney problems. "Yes, it's probably going to go down. It's a pretty good size surgery and a lot of time down but you gotta do what you gotta do," he said, but ensured fans that he will be back in time for "Idol" tour.
