Winners of the 15th SAG Awards have been announced and 'The Dark Knight' has come out victorious with two kudos, including Best Supporting Actor for Heath Ledger.
On Sunday, January 25, Los Angeles Shrine Exposition Center has witnessed the honoring of the outstanding performances for actors and actresses with the gala ceremony of 15th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards Awards. At the event televised live on both TNT and TBS, "The Dark Knight" led the pack, snubbing two kudos.
The summer blockbuster movie from director Christopher Nolan was earlier awarded with The Actor for the Outstanding Stunt Ensemble prize. In addition, one of its stars, Heath Ledger has been revealed by Kristin Scott Thomas as the recipient of the Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role for his role as Joker.
John Patrick Shanley's drama "Doubt" which nabbed five nominations only managed to bring home one kudo, the Outstanding Performance by a Female Actress in a Leading Role for its leading actress Meryl Streep. Meanwhile, Gus Van Sant's "Milk" was given the Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role for Sean Penn.
In the category of Outstanding Performance by Cast in a Motion Picture, "Slumdog Millionaire" has come out victorious. The rag-to-riches drama has beaten out stong competitions, "Doubt", "Milk", "Frost/Nixon" and "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button", for the prize.
