Avril Lavigne to Release 'Best Damn Thing' as 4th Single and Shoot Its Video

It has been confirmed that the fourth official single from Avril Lavigne's "The Best Damn Thing" album is the title track. The single is the follow up to "Hot" that was released in October last year. Lavigne also put "Innocence" on the radio this month but it is not confirmed to be a single.

According to a press release, the music video for "The Best Damn Thing" will be shot soon and her older brother Matthew who made a cameo as a bass player in her "Girlfriend" music video will star in this clip also. "I like to put my brother and sister in videos," she said.

Tom DeLonge-fronted band Angels & Airwaves have released a new music video for their second single off 2007 album "I-Empire". The music video for "Secret Crowds" debuted on MTV2 on Monday, February 25 and can also be seen on the band's Modlife site.

The video reportedly was shot over the course of two days back in January 2008. It shows scenes where a man is trapped in the middle of an angry ocean while the band play aggressively to the tune of the head-banger song.

Kanye West and 50 Cent to Remix 'Flashing Lights'?

Mulling over a feuding scheme to get their album sales boost, Kanye West and 50 Cent are reportedly back on friendly term to make a new collaboration. According to MediaTakeOut.com, the rappers are slated to make remix on West's "Flashing Lights".

The website claimed they have heard "whispers" that 50 is going to be featured in the remix of the fourth single from West's "Graduation". A producer who spread the news said that 50 was the one who came up with the idea. "50 Cent never had anything personally against Kanye (like he did) with The Game, or Fat Joe. So it's not as crazy an idea as you'd think... Besides it's good for hip hop," the source revealed.

Kaiser Chiefs' New Single Coming Out Shortly

Kaiser Chiefs' frontman has revealed that their third studio album is near completion. Ricky Wilson said that a new single will be recorded within weeks and will be released thereafter in advance of the album.

Speaking generally on the materials accumulated for their new effort, Wilson described them as "fun, ridiculous, exciting and edgy and raw." The band have pocketed one song called "Hello Groovy" that becomes Wilson's favorite. Other song slated to make the cut is "Never Miss a Beat" that they have played a couple of times live.

Jack White Speaks on Bob Dylan's Hank Williams Project

On the continuation of the Bob Dylan's project to get several artists to complete Hank Williams' unfinished songs, one of the collaborators Jack White has spoken on his contribution. White speaks more elaborately on what Dylan is trying to do with the country singer's materials that were not done before his death in 1953.

Speaking to MTV White explained, "Bob's putting together an album. He came upon, somehow, 20-25 unfinished songs by Hank Williams: just the lyrics, no music, and he started to ask people if they would finish these songs." Back in November last year White reportedly worked on Williams' unfinished "You Know That I Know" at Blackbird Studios in Nashville with engineer Joe Chiccarelli.

Video Premiere: Kerli's 'Love Is Dead'

Def Jam artist Kerli has premiered her debut music video for the single "Love Is Dead". Kerli's love for fairytales, darkness and creepy images are blended in this video which is directed by Josh Mond.

"Love Is Dead" is the first single and the title track of the Estonian singer's debut album. In the song she sings "All I want/Is right here/But love don't live here anymore/And love don't live here anymore" which reportedly is a picture of her idea. Commenting on the song Kerli previously told AceShowbiz that she did not believe in love when she wrote that song. "But I do believe in love," she added. "Not even like romantic kind of love so much but I do believe in universal love. Collective love."

Juelz Santana Blames Cam'ron for Album Delay

Just when people start wondering where Juelz Santana is heading to with his music career, the rapper showed up with some explanation. The Def Jam artist who has not released any new studio album since the 2005 "What the Game's Been Missing!" is blaming the lack of productivity to Cam'ron.

Although it has been rumored for sometime that Juelz is feuding with his fellow Dipset crew members like Cam'ron and Jim Jones, it is the first time that he addressed the situation. The 25-year-old sat down in an interview with Hot 97's Angie Martinez, explaining that he needs to settle on some things with Cam'ron fist before moving on with his studio work.

Jay-Z and Nas Teaming for New Album in 2009?

Beside running his clubs, hotel chains, clothing line, new ad agency and many other business ventures, Jay-Z is moving on with his music career. The 38-year-old reportedly is talking with fellow rapper Nas to work on a joint album which will be released in early 2009.

New York Daily News' gossip column reported that Jay-Z will release the collaborative album which is tentatively titled "The Kings of Hip Hop" through his new but not yet confirmed label, Carter Music Group. Jay-Z himself is due to release a studio album this year while Nas has also set date April 22 for his album "Nigger".

Preview of Mariah Carey's 'Touch My Body' Video

A less than half a minute clip from Mariah Carey's highly-anticipated music video, "Touch My Body" has been circulating on-line. The short footage reportedly is a preview of the full-length video which will be premiered on Wednesday, February 27.

As previously reported, the video is directed by movie maker Brett Ratner and features Jack McBrayer who is mostly known as Kenneth in TV series "30 Rock". And commenting on working with the artist Ratner previously said, "Mariah looks better than she has ever looked... It's ridiculous."

Mary J. Blige has premiered the music video of "Come to Me (Peace)", a track from her latest release, "Growing Pains" on Yahoo! Music. Since the song is used as soundtrack to "Meet the Browns", the video is inserted with some scenes from the Tyler Perry-directed movie.

Meanwhile, it was reported that Blige is shooting for the actual third single from "Growing Pains". The track chosen as the follow up to "Just Fine" and "Work That" is the Dre & Vidal-produced "Hurt Again".

A release schedule for Britney Spears' new music video promotion has been set to be on MTV's TRL. A sneak peek of "Break The Ice" the video is slated to be played on the channel today, February 25. The single is the third from her recent release, "Blackout".

Britney has reportedly been training at Los Angeles' Millennium Dance Complex in preparation of the video. The TV guide listing for "TRL" announced "We're going to snitch a look at 'Break the Ice', the next music video from a way-under-the-radar performer by the name of Britney Spears."

'Little Miss Obsessive', Ashlee Simpson's Official New Single

Ashlee Simpson has unveiled a new single from her upcoming album, "Bittersweet World" which is due April 15. The single is called "Little Miss Obsessive" and has been taking impact on radio outlets since last week.

Not yet confirmed to be the second single from the album, "Little Miss Obsessive" is featuring Tom Higgenson of Plain White T's. In the song that opens with a mid-tempo piano line, Simpson sings "Little miss obsessive, can't get over it."

Paul McCartney Woking on New Album With Youth

Despite his turbulent personal life following his difficult divorce from model Heather Mills, Paul McCartney is still milking his creative juice by writing his next album. The Beatle is working on the follow up to 2007 "Memory Almost Full" with producer Youth.

He is working on the set in his Icklesham, East Sussex studio. A spokesperson for the artist explained, "Paul started recording last week, but he has been writing for a while. It should be ready by the summer."

Avril Lavigne Tapping Jonas Brothers as Tour Support?

Gossip site PerezHilton reported that Avril Lavigne is in desperate attempt to sell her concert tickets for her upcoming outing, The Best Damn Tour. The singer reportedly has added Jonas Brothers as her supporting act to boost the ticket sales.

The site revealed that her tour is "so underselling that she is taking drastic measures to sell tickets", including adding one more supporting act. Should Jonas Brothers really are on board, then they will join the previously confirmed act Boys Like Girls to be Lavigne's openers.

The Black Crowes Unhappy With Maxim's Review on 'Warpaint'

Unhappy with the way a Maxim's writer has reviewed their new album "Warpaint", The Black Crowes have released a statement lashing out the publication on their official site. The album received two-and-a-half stars out of five in the review despite the fact that the writer reportedly has not listened to the CD.

"The writer - who has not heard the album since advance CDs were not made available - wrote what appears to be a disparaging assessment anyway, citing, 'it hasn't left Chris Robinson and the gang much room for growth,'" read a post on the band's official Website. The review appears on the March issue of the magazine.
