The Diva Is Recuperating, Australians Are Glad

Australians may now feel glad, as their pop diva Kylie Minogue was recuperating on Sunday after a successful breast cancer surgery at Cabrini hospital in Melbourne. Local media reported that Kylie has left the hospital on Saturday, and fans are hoping her speedy recovery.

Following the surgery, Kylie would probably undergo a course of radiotherapy, just like any other breast surgery patients would normally do. "What extra treatments are required will depend on the size of the tumor and the grade of the tumor, as in how aggressive it is, and of course whether or not there is any spread to the lymph nodes," Dr Cindy Pam, a medical commentator on Australia's Network Seven explained.

Two of its members have died and they aren't as productive as they used to be, but the legendary Beach Boys want to keep the memory of them remains in fans heart. Thus, they have on Friday unveiled a state historical landmark in California, a place where they actually come from.

Hundreds of fans joined the band's three members, Al Jardine, Brian Wilson, and David Marks, to mark the opening of the landmark, which idea is uttered by a fan of them named Harry Jarnagan. In realisation of the landmark, it eventually gained the support of the musicians themselves and local politicians.

Plagiarism Over Pop Diva

Again, famous singer caught up in a plagiarism case. This time it's hitting superstar Madonna. A Belgian composer, Salvatore Acquaviva, accuses the singer of stealing the melody from his song "My Life's Getting Nowhere" for her 1998 hit "Frozen."

Concerning the allegation, Salvatore had, on Wednesday, testified at Belgian's Mons court that Madonna lifted several bars from the song he wrote five years earlier. Madonna's lawyer Fabienne Brison denied the plagiarism accusations, saying Salvatore wants to make use on her client popularity and wealth.

DeGeneres' Talk Show Won Its 2nd Daytime Emmy

Talk show host Ellen DeGeneres may feel proud as her easygoing project won Daytime Emmy award on Friday, marking its second straight. Merv Griffin has, at that time, received lifetime achievement award, while his 1960s creation "Jeopardy!," with a boost from Ken Jennings' 74-game winning streak, was honored as best game show for the tenth time.

Held at Radio City Music Hall and televised on CBS, the Daytime Emmys also among others honored Stockard Channing. Natalia Livingston of "General Hospital" and Greg Rikaart of "The Young and the Restless", in addition, won their first Emmys for supporting actors in a soap opera. Briefly, DeGeneres tells the new issue of Allure magazine she was a victim of her stepdad's lust in 1975, while her mother Betty was in hospital being treated for breast cancer. Further the beauty explains that his stepdad insisted on checking her for breast cancer lumps. "He made me let him feel my breasts. He made me lie down because he said he felt hers (mother's) when she was lying down," she said.

Jay-Z's Countersuit Against R. Kelly Dismissed

Monday May 16, 2005, a Manhattan judge has come to a decisison, which was dismissed Jay-Z countersuit against R. Kelly stemming from November 2004 incident, in which the rapper was booted from their 40-city Best Of Both Worlds tour.

The suit against Kelly was, indeed, Jay-Z counterclaim in response to the R&B singer's $75 million U.S. lawsuit against him and his associates, claiming one of Jay's bodyguards discharged pepper spray into his face. As a result, Jay-Z then counter-suing Kelly with two claims, that Kelly cheated him by breaking a promise to put on a good show and that Kelly interfered with his contract with the tour promoter.
